I sent off a brochure request to ITT Technical institute but like it never came. So I sent another request and this woman starts calling my cell phone and leaving voicemail for me. We played phone tag for a week or so cause I was always asleep when she called and she wasn't at her office in the evenings. So finally I got ahold of her Tuesday and she tells me she wants to arrange for me to come on campus to talk, look around, whatever else. She said she had an opening Wednesday at noon, so I agree to come up. So like yesterday I get up there like half an hour early and I'm waiting outside in the car kinda lookin around and my first impression wasn't that great. The school looked kinda like an oversized LTC South and I'm thinking, shit this is gonna suck, what am I gonna do? So noon rolls around and I go in and suddenly the place looks really nice on the inside, so that was cool. I sign in and they give me this junk to fill out, mostly a questionaire for them to base the interview on. I fill it all out and meet with my representative and we just chat it up for like an hour and stuff, really nice lady. And then she took me around the campus, showed me all the labs and rooms I'd be working in, all the brand new Dells and Macs in the design labs... friggin awesome... And then I meet all sorts of directors and deans and like everybody we see in the hall pretty much, all really friendly people. So we go back into her office and she starts asking if I want to apply today and all the things that come with and I tell her I didn't really come prepared with all that information and whatever on hand. Then she drops the bomb on me and says that she really needs me to if I am interested in the program because it starts the week of March 13th. So I end up staying way later than I wanted to filling out paperwork from memory and taking skills assessments and little tests and things. All said and done, I get accepted on the spot. Now I have to go back again Saturday to meet about financial aid and all that stuff to get this place paid for. And then I get to go back on the 2nd of March to an orientation to get my books and my schedule, meet my teachers and classmates, and enjoy a free meal.
So...
I am going to ITT Tech at the Indianapolis, IN campus
I am getting a bachelors degree in Digital Entertainment and Game Design via an associates degree in Multimedia (they recommended I take it this way since the associates leads into the bachelors really well, plus I leave with 2 degrees)
While I do not know my exact class schedule, all of my classes will start no earlier than 6pm and end no later than 11pm... so it will be all night courses which works well because I can come right home in time to goto work a little late... which I am gonna have to talk to my boss about
Also I am told I shouldn't need to spend more than a few days on campus a week, so the class schedule will be nice and light and easy to deal with, especially with a full time job and that commute I'm going to be making
I'm really excited about it all... kinda nervous about it coming so soon, but I think everything will be just fine. Everybody up there is so nice and friendly and helpful, I already felt welcome there after just that afternoon. Anyways... post questions, comments, whatever... I probably left out a lot of important information you all are curious about I'm sure.
And an added note: I'm off work tonight, you people need to come on by the house and hang out... play some video games, have a couple drinks... party Josh style :P
