I think I'm happy
I am beyond pleased with the presidential election. Considering how freakin' red Montana usually is, it's amazing that McCain's margin of victory here was so slim. Overall a great showing for Dems in all races here.
Our smoke alarms went off at 5 AM for no reason whatsoever. They are wired together, one in each bedroom, all go off if one goes off, and are of course extremely loud and piercing. The poor kiddo screamed in utter terror. Mr. Ivy was halfway down the hall to her room before my feet hit the floor. I took her from him and stood near the door in case there really was a fire while Mr. Ivy checked each room and ripped each smoke alarm off the ceiling to make it stop shrieking.
There was no smoke, anywhere. There was a humidifier in the kid's room, but we've run that dozens of times with no problems. We have no idea why they went off. Poor kid tried to go back to sleep in her room but dreamed that I had burned up in a fire, so now she's in my bed with Mr. Ivy. I think he's actually somewhat comforted to have her there, too.
