Hyperdead
Last night we had some impressive lightning. Other than looking awesome, it also caused our power to fluctuate a lot. This made my old desktop (which is essentially just plugged into the wall) very unhappy. So unhappy that now whenever its turned on it makes a plaintive "bweeooop" before even getting to the health monitor screen. I'm not sure what that means at this point, at least in terms of what is actually wrong with the hardware. What it does probably mean is that I'm going to have to retire that system now. It's served me well these last five years or so. So long "HYPERDEATH". Hopefully my hard drives are ok so I can salvage that much at least.
