I forgot to mention the oddest event of the weekend. On Friday night my monitor decided that it would break in a very interesting manner. The red channel turned off. Because of that, all green also appeared yellow. Purple appeared white, and generally everything was just all messed up looking. I was rendered digitally color-blind. Using a simple levels adjustment, I have reproduced what my desktop looked like:

Please note, it is not advisable to use a monitor which has no red channel for an extended period of time. Man, everything looked red for a while... Anyway, using that monitor was intolerable. Fortunately, one of my room mates had a spare monitor since his parents hooked him up with a flat panel for Christmas. I am now using his (excellent) monitor.
