Amazon.com's recommendation system is well designed to seperate you from your money. Buy one thing, and bam, it hits you with a bunch of other stuff you also probably want to buy. I was signing on last night to order NIN's The Fragile which I've wanted for a while. Amazon reminded me that I don't yet have Ultraspank's debut album Ultraspank and to get the super saver free shipping I could add it to my purchase. In the end, I ended up ordering 6 CDs for a grand total of $86 that should arrive Friday. Now that I've ordered even more stuff from them, the stuff that appears on the recommended list is mostly artists that I already know I like. Those that I don't recognize, I'm likely to look into. I've had good luck with that before, just from using amazon's "users that bought this also liked..." feature.
Exciting (not really) news: I also ordered the Family Guy DVDs. Awwww yeah. Those will compliment these Futurama DVDs nicely. Chad, Shawn, and I will no longer need to rely exclusively on ATHF for our entertainment when nothing good is on TV.
Hopefully this update will fix the comment and current music appearing on top of the post instead of the bottom. Maybe LJ didn't like my table tags from last time.
Edit: Goddamnit.
