2107

A few days ago a letter from the apartment complex I signed with arrived. It informed me that we've been assigned to room 2107, that is, building 2, 1st floor. Woo 1st floor. I was kind of worried about that... I didn't really want to go through sophomore year's whole "FAGGOTS NEED TO STOP YOUR FUCKING DANCING" thing again. Move in is the 12th, and at some point I have to figure out what I'm doing about phone service. Chad and the others all have cell phones, so they don't see the point in getting a land line. I tend to agree with them since I don't use the phone. However, one of the things listed as a requirement on move-in day is "New apartment home telephone number."

Yesterday, I watched TMNT: The Movie for the first time in a long while. I'd forgotten how cheesy/awesome that movie is. One must applaud the stunt people in those rubber suits for being able to move at all let alone do 'ninja' moves. The only problem I've always had with this movie is Casey Jones. He should get his fucking ass handed to him in two seconds by any member of the foot clan. They're ninja goddamnit! He's just got a stupid hockey stick. Kick his ass already! And at the end, he beats #2 with a golf club? Come on, I'm really not believing that. I really love the scene where the one clan guy comes in and just passes out axes to all his buddies. Here everyone! Axes! Excellent.

We (my brother and I) were inspired to watch that movie again after spending this week playing TMNT: The Gamecube Game (I don't know the real title). It's kind of fun at first, but rapidly devolves into basically: hit A a lot of times, and sometimes, hit B. The cut-scenes don't really make a lot of sense because they don't show you everything for every turtle (you're supposed to play it through as all of them to get all of them) and because it's based on the new cartoon series that I haven't seen at all. No Technodrome? No Krang? Fags. And April is apparently not a reporter in this one... and dresses in slutty raver cloths instead of a tight fitting yellow jump-suit. Overall: Not worth buying, I'm glad we only rented it.

At work I've been working on revision of the Virtual Astronaut project for NASA. You can actually see this one here. Click on "try our beta version" and you can get more of a picture of what I'm working on. The release there is a few months old I think, but is close to what we'll have for the August 12th release. Anyway, one of the activities (Bone up on Bones) has a quiz at the end that I'm revising. They're changing the text to some of the questions and reordering some things as well. Getting to the point, this question was at one point on my screen:
What part of the skull encloses the brain?

c. cancer

I've omitted the other choices, because the aren't nearly as funny. This was a result of the question being only partially fixed at the time, and won't have this choice when it's released, but I thought it was funny enough that I would post it here. Or maybe I was just really sleepy at the time, and found it unreasonably funny.
