Air... or not

It seems that whatever problem that out AC had last week was more serious than a slow leak that the repair guy thought that it probably was. Must be a much faster leak, or a more serious problem. It's now 84 in here... ugh. At least I'll get to spend most of the day at work where the office is kept at about 72 all day. Well, the interior rooms. The rooms with windows are much warmer than that, so the AC has to work hard, and in doing so cools the interior rooms to a very pleasant temperature. And, since all the interior rooms are now occupied by guys most of the time, there is no battle over the thermostat.

In work news, we completed the dread Glovebox project today. I was finally given more details on the actual goals of the project. It turns out that the whole effort on this project was to create a demo product to get money for 'Phase II.' It wasn't 100% clear, but I think that NASA was actually paying us for this... to produce a demo. I got a brief look at the document listing the requirements for the report we had to turn in with our CD. Holy crap... it's a document describing rules for a document, and it's at least 80 pages long. I'm glad I didn't have to work on that part of the project. Working in Director was annoying enough.

Anyway, we turned in a product complete with a document listing all of the (some fairly major) defects in the program that we know about. Our finished product had at least six or seven bugs that would cause the entire program to become inoperable. There are no less than three ways that I can think of right now to break the clipping so that the object you're supposed to be looking at falls through the wall. Fun stuff. At least we were able to tackle most of the problems that I was having in Director. That's right 'we' solved my problems. Mostly, the other guy on the project took like an hour and changed one thing that had he done it before would have made things a lot easier on my part. Oh well. In fact... it seemed that really, he could have done the Director part more easily without trying to hard. I suppose that's what you get when you get a degree in some sort of computer science as opposed to just picking up things as you go along. The only problem with that scenario is that the Coding Guru guy (Indian of course) seems to be working on about four or five projects at once, where he is integral to the progress of all of them. So, I'm needed to help reduce his workload.

Now, off to eat some ice cream to help me cool off a bit.
