today i woke up 30 minutes before class and realized my "nap" last night lasted seven hours. i was going to cut class since i hadn't done my piece from the week before, but instead doodled to "hella nervous" and turned it it. (the piece was supposed to be about a song or music you like). i think it went ok surprisingly. it's sorta refreshing i can actually do a drawing in 30 minutes and it turns out decent.
the other painting i turned in was about burgers. to whomever sent me the ebay link to the burger phone, you have changed my life. (who are you???) i am going to win it. i'm determined. i lost the last one but i'm back on track and now i think all my paintings will be about burgers. and on that note, i'm going to try to figure out how far i can take the things i like and not become too wrapped up in trendy art iconography. right now i realize the total over use of these things that i like:
stars
nautical stars particularly
anchors
deer (duh)
meat anything (maya hayuk + mark ryden = enuff)
clouds
drippy things
clustering your art / paintings
putting work in janky frames and clustering those too
birds anything
lightening bolts (or is this in my head?)
teeth
type- especially old type (ala margaret killgallen)
nurse anything (probably anything medical in general).
damn me for liking "trendy" things. damn trendy things for being so cool.
this leaves me with, oh, nothing.
