Romania, Saturday [5/26] (backdated leik woah, I know, I know)

Amazing, wasn't it, the places a single conversation could take you? For Vlad, Friday night's talk had lead he and Walter to the airport and onto a plane where, despite Walter's not really having a ticket and Pup's insisting on joining them in the cabin, there had been no problem. Then, they'd crossed the Atlantic and a large portion of Europe to land at the airport in Arad only to hop yet another plane to Bucharest. From there, it had been a long car ride along winding roads until they'd reached their final destination: a small, painted caravan, deep in the woods, that was situated a little ways off from a circle of others.

Walter had slept for most of the trip, waking only to make the bleary eyed treks from plane to plane to car to caravan. Which was good. This would be Vlad's first time showing Walter his Romania. It would be best if Walter were awake for some of it.

But, for now, this was enough. Vlad lay stretched out on the caravan's bed, one arm around Walter, the other gently stroking Pup's soft ears. The vampire had a lot to think about, and he'd had plenty of time to do so during the course of their journey. Funny, then, how he still didn't know what to think. What to do. He'd still not reached any conclusion apart from the fact that he'd take these next two years a day at a time.

Purgatory before Paradise. Or at least as close to Paradise as Vlad was ever likely to see.
