These daily pullup sessions are BRUTAL. My arms are throbbing so bad right now. Got a killer pump though, heheh. Doug gave Lance some advice about not going down too slow but to try and drop most of the way instead, so I tried it and it did help conserve a little energy for an extra rep or two. Also Jesse and I have mastered the swinging kick that gets your chin up that last inch.
Last night I basically "took the night off from squats," only doing 225 for 5x5 but going full parallel or a bit past it on every rep. Some felt better than others: tight back, weight on the heels, power coming from the glutes. And a few were like my normal problem reps where I lean too far forward and end up using some of the lower back & oblique muscles to stabilize before I squat up. I'm not quite sure how to proceed, it may behoove me to move up from 225 (in 10 lb increments) doing the full squat. I'll consider it.
Calling 225 "taking the night off" is pretty good, right?
In other news I finally overhead pressed 115 and deadlifted 275! Go me!
Tomorrow I attempt to bench 190, and then and only then can I truly claim to be able to bench my weight.
