Two young men are gathered in one corner. One is murmuring, leafing through a composition book, the other grunts his assent, nodding occasionally.
A third young man enters. "Hi, guys."
Hissing his annoyance at the newcomer, the young man who had been listening looks up. The newcomer's voice betrays his appearance as he is a good 15 centimeters shorter than Kaidoh if not more. "The first year classrooms are down on the next floor."
The newcomer whistles. "Is that how you greet every stranger you see? I'll have you know I've been here much longer than the two of you."
That comment gives Kaidoh's companion pause. "You are right. It was quite rude of us." He closes his notebook. "I am Sadaharu Inui, and this is Kaoru Kaidoh. And you are?"
"Duo Maxwell." Duo eyes Inui warily as he flips his composition book open and starts writing.
"And you say you've been in Noa's muse space much longer than we," Inui said. "How long?"
"Let's see... Close to six years, if I remember correctly."
"Aa..." Inui scribbles some more.
"Tell me you're not writing this down." Duo eyes his watch and hopes his companion shows up soon. As in rightnowalreadydamnit.
"He does that to everyone," Kaidoh gruffs. "He says he has complete data on me," he adds with a blush.
"And you are 100 percent correct, Kaidoh. I do," Inui replies with a smirk. Duo shivers, recalling that not even Professor G came off that creepy. The end of his braid looks pretty interesting all of a sudden.
"If it's just the same to you, I'll just go over here and wait for my friend," Duo says, pointing to a sofa over in another corner.
"Very well," Inui says. "Care for anything to drink?"
Just catching Kaidoh's brief gesture of caution, Duo says, "Ah, I'm okay. Really, I am."
"Duo?"
Duo looks up to see his companion has made it and meets him halfway. "Heero! Man, am I glad to see you."
Inui turns a page in his composition book and writes more. "Has a friend named..." He looks up at the newest arrival, who he notes is the same height as Duo. "Is that one 'E' or two?"
Heero manages to suppress a twitch. "Two, and why are you writing that down?"
Duo grabs Heero's hand. "Don't ask, just walk -- walk very quickly to the exit," he says before any protest is made. "Trust me on this one."
Inui almost looks disappointed his newest subjects have already abandoned him but shrugs it off and turns back to Kaidoh. "For some reason I believe I may be missing some additional data on you."
"Fssshhuuu."
