I've finally gotten back to climbing. I am, admittedly, very bad, simply due to my long absence (almost a month). It's taking me a while to get back into the groove, but yesterday was the most inspired day of climbing in, well, almost a month.
And I'm completely broke - in debt, actually. With my mother's and my best friend's birthdays just around the corner. And school! School starts in nine days, holy hell. For those of you interested, my schedule is as follows:
1. French 1 (heck yeah)
2. Astronomy
3. AP Physics
4. AP Calculus
5. AP English IV
6. AP Macroeconomics (1st semester)/ AP Government (2nd semester)
7. Off period - I figure I could use a break, oh well if it looks "not as good" on a college application
Emma and I are going to the mall in about twenty minutes, just gonna go hang out; again, I can't buy anything (like, for my mom or kadin) cause I'm broke. Blegh.
So, this is by far the most pointless post I've made in this journal so far. Let us pray I don't do it again.
Actually, what I'm most excited about is that I've started writing a new scifi short story. I'm not going to get into a lot of it here, but here's a short excerpt from what I wrote last night.
Inside Sesteja’s apartment, it was mostly quiet. The apartment was much like any other; black sofa and furniture, a separate bedroom with a bed with a single satin sheet, separate bathroom; but she had windows. Oh, glorious god of lightning and sand, thank you for your transparent gift that we may see the stars, yet be shielded from their wrath.
And the lightning coursed through Sesteja, and the sand was in her eyes. She shuddered and moaned as she cried, cried for the dead they had remembered that day. Her left hand did nothing, but her right hand lay on her face, caressing away the tears like a lover would. And then he was there, confused by the feeling in the room. He took her up in his arms, holding her tight as she closed her eyes in relief.
Inside Sesteja’s apartment, it was mostly quiet, save the feeling of love crashing into them.
