There's so much I love in this episode, but also quite a bit that makes me want to do horrible things to the people who wrote it. I looooooooooooooove this episode! The cockblocking, not so much, but I love how together Luke and Reid are! I love Luke standing up for Reid in front of Chris. I love Luke and Reid presenting as a united front to Chris. I loooove Reid ADMITTING HE'S IN LOVE WITH LUKE, ASDFGHJKHGFDFS, and wanting the whole enchilada with him!!! He might as well have just proposed marriage! And I love the delicious kissing, and the flirting at the hospital, and Luke checking out Reid's ass! Love!
Luke (who will never make a living as a poker player, because everything he's feeling is written all over his face) definitely likes what he's hearing, but he prompts Reid to clarify his meaning. Reid says that Luke better take care of his kidney, because, "If I'm going to put myself out there, fall in love with you, I am not going to lose you."
All Luke heard was "fall in love with you" and he liked it. He asks if Reid plans to fall in love with him. Reid starts out saying "no" but as he goes on, he makes it clear that it's not that he's planning to NOT fall in love, just that it's not the sort of thing you can plan, that it just happens and you're powerless to stop it. Then he stops himself, surprised that he'd just said he'd be powerless, because he's never been powerless, he's always in control of everything.
Luke's face makes it clear that every word Reid is saying is making him all kinds of giddy and happy inside
Haha! He totes loved it, his smile was enormous, and Luke's complete lack of a poker face is one of his most endearing qualities. Oh, Luke. <3
And, okay, the fact that Reid doesn't want to rush through their first time together but rather wants to savor every second of it actually is a good reason to put things off for the moment.
Mmmm. I'm going to just focus on that. Oh, yes.
Back at the hospital, we see that Luke went along with Reid. Reid says his rounds shouldn't take too long and asks if Luke wants to stick around so they can go grab a bite to eat when he's done. Luke says only if Reid's paying, and Reid insists that Luke is the one with the deep pockets. Luke points out that Reid is the candidate for chief of staff who needs Luke's vote... I don't know about you, but I think Luke was implying that part of Reid's interview process might involve him demonstrating skills that aren't traditionally associated with being chief of staff.
Oh godddddddd, I like the idea of Reid taking that skills test. Guuh.
*stares at gif some more* Reid was totally getting ready to push Luke backwards on that couch and climb all over him. Guuuuh.

I took it more like he was admitting he was headed in that direction, not necessarily that he'd already gotten there, but either way I still loved hearing it (and so did Luke!!!).
Luke's complete lack of a poker face is one of his most endearing qualities.

Me, too! I'm imagining something by way of an oral exam that none of the other candidates get have to take. :D :D :D
