Hello, rewatchers! Have we got a great episode today! :D
Luke is clearly already feeling lighter after being unhooked by Noah, as his hair has shrunk a few inches once more. There's a nice moment between him and Lucinda outside the Lilypad, followed by some Gabriel-related shenanigans that no one gives a flying fuck about. (Seriously such a useless character they insisted on wasting our time with!)
At Memorial, Reid discharges Noah. Reid is kind and funny, and offers Noah his hand as he sincerely wishes him luck. Then Richard arrives. Yay! Richard is one of my favourite day players. He's so dorky and awesome, and appreciates Reid's good looks. Noah is surprised to hear Reid is hot, and wonders why Luke never mentioned it. Um, when, exactly, would Luke have mentioned it? In between Noah berating him and pushing him away? Even before Luke fell for Reid, he was a little preoccupied with getting Noah better, not gossiping over Noah's doctor.
At the Lakeview, Reid and Luke make more googly eyes. Luke wonders why Noah didn't ask him for a ride after being discharged, and Reid tries to make Luke feel better by saying Noah didn't want to bother him. And there's the thing -- Luke WANTS to be bothered. Luke loves helping people. He's in his element when he can do something for someone else. No matter how badly Noah's treated him, if Noah called him and asked for a ride, Luke would be happy about it. He'd be over the moon! Because Luke is love. His desire to help others is probably the most fundamental character traits he owns, and Noah will just never get that. Instead he just makes Luke's decisions for him, as usual.
Reid, in a delightfully blatant attempt to spend some quality time with Luke, offers to help search for Gabriel, who perhaps isn't so useless after all. Hey, I'll take whatever quality time we can get. Luke and Reid flirt adorably and make more googly eyes. *happy sigh*
Back the hospital, Noah comes in his pants makes some more hilariously bad O faces after putting in miracle eye drops.
And then he can see! Damn, that was one powerful orgasm. Poor Richard also sees the light and realizes Noah's just not that into him, because Noah has decided he's still in love with Luke.
At the Lilypad, Luke and Reid tip-toe around each other about whether or not Reid should stay, and he does. They play chess and flirt, and Reid reveals that he was a chess prodigy as a child and felt like his parents made him into a trained seal. All this openness makes Reid uncomfortable, and he says he feels like he's a teenager again and, "All I can think about is whether or not you like me, or if you want me as much as I want you." OH, REID. Yes, bb. HELL, YES.
They talk about high school and crushes, and Reid babbles ("It's like the attack of the Science Nerd Guy") and Luke finds this all very attractive. He stops Reid's babbling with his lips, and they kiss. One of my fave kisses! And then, one of my very favourite moments in this storyline as Noah watches in horror as Luke and Reid kiss and clutch each other hotly.
