I'll cut Lily some slack here because she does say that she wants Luke to be happy(although yes, the "forever" question is a bit premature based on one cheek stroke). I'm not nominating her for mom of the year, but I can understand Lily's skepticism because she really hasn't seen Reid's good side nor has she seen how good they are together.

I'll agree. I like Lily too and though she ain't the smartest cookie, she does always want Luke to be happy and I guess she just figured Noah was all it took.

Plus, her disapproval means that we get to hear Luke defending Reid and I love watching him do that. The look on his face! The smile! He gets giddy talking about what a bastard Reid is and I love that!

YES! I love his face when he talks about Reid--if only Reid could've overheard it. *swoon*

I agree that it was awesome to listen to Luke explain his attraction to Reid! It makes me wonder too about what he might have said in yesterday's episode before Reid cut him off with that "I get it" line...

God, that plagues me. I really want to know what he would've said!!

I think - although I do wish he'd finish the line - that he was going to point blank say "I've only ever slept with Noah so it's hard for me to sleep with you right away" but Reid already got that from Luke's round about talking. but of course we'll never really know.

I think it's like how Reid got that Luke was an alcoholic without Luke really having to say anything and they didn't discuss it but Reid knew (Sparkly water crap)

Yeah, they didn't discuss it beyond the "I don't drink" line, did they?

BTW, the kidney part was another talk that happened off camera, and I would have liked to have it in a scene. So many missed opportunities! Darn show!

I kind of think they did off screen. But that's just me. :) I mean, he knew about Luke's kidney.

Oh man, now I want fic for when Luke told Reid about his kidney! A clever one though. Not just a bunch of dialogue. *ponders if I should post it at the prompts comm*

NSD wrote that story once, remember? I wonder if it is still around. It was a one shot.

Oh, yeah. I think she might have. I wonder if it's the sort of thing I'm craving. I'll have to go look at LRO I guess.

It's angsty.

I would like to see something cute and funny, even. A humorous piece about it, if that's possible. LOL!

Oh shit! Haha, I forgot about this one. She wrote for me, even! From my plot bunny. *has dementia*

Yeah, it's not what I want right now though. I want something more canonical, that can work as a gapfiller. Something cute, for sure.

I agree. The "take care of your kidney" line makes it clear that they talked about it. I just wish it had taken place ON the show! Well, it would make a good comment fic.

I agree with your theory re what Luke was going to say.

I think that Reid didn't realize that Luke's not drinking was due to alcoholism until the conversation in Yo's where Luke says something like, "Then you don't really understand drunks at all." Which I thought was a interesting way for Luke to 'come out' as an alcoholic. We definitely didn't get to see the conversation where Luke[?] told Reid about his kidney transplant.

I DO TOO. Luke's giddiness about it is one of the best parts of that scene.
