Douchey Moments in History

Nov 01, 2010 08:34

From now until December 19th, I'm going to be posting various clips featuring Noah at his most douchetastic. I'm going to say right up front here that any one of these instances could probably be dismissed as understandable and forgivable, brought on by the circumstances, and what have you... but eventually that excuse stops working. Nobody is ( Read more... )

More later, but to repeat what I said to you before:

I love the douchey expression on his face when Maddie's like, "What will happen to you when I go to Wesleyan?" And he's obviously thinking, "OMG. I MIGHT TURN GAY IF YOU LEAVE. I HAVE TO KEEP POKING YOU WITH MY PENIS TO MAKE SURE THAT LUKE SNYDER GUY DOESN'T LURE ME IN WITH HIS GAY LIPS AND HIS GAY ASS AND HIS GAY FACE!!!! GIVE UP YOUR DREAMS SO I DON'T TURN GAY, MADDIE!!!"

SELFISH MUCH, NOAH????

One thing I love about this scene is that Luke's biggest concern is NOT with himself, and "oh, but I want us to be together" but with how Noah trying to make himself be straight will affect Maddie.

Yeah, Luke is so controlling wanting Noah to not be a selfish douche like that. God.

That Luke Snyder. Always putting other people first. SO CONTROLLING.

And poor Maddie has been through SO much. Getting raped by her brother-in-law, her sister turning out to be an axe murderer or some shit, Casey going to jail, almost getting raped by Adam, etc., etc.

And I love how Noah's like, You can always go to Wesleyan later. I know it's Oakdale and university admission processes aren't exactly the same as they are in the real world, but you don't just snap your fingers and get to go to a college whenever YOU choose!

How fucked up was that? I mean, I'm sorry, but a school like Wesleyan isn't just going to hold a slot open for you indefinitely. If they accept you and you turn them down, then later decide you actually do want to go, you have reapply, and there is no guarantee that you're going to be accepted a second time.

Exactly! Sheesh.

I can't remember how upset Maddie gets when she eventually finds out the truth and how Noah selfishly used her. But I hope she gave him the gears!

She was pretty pissed. She may have even smacked him, I don't remember.

I do remember that she asked Noah if he was attracted to Luke and when Noah finally said yes she said, "And that's ok. That's ok that you have feelings for him, but what's not ok is how you treated me."

Oh, she was pretty damned upset -- this clip is actually going to be part of my next doucheapalooza post, but there's no reason you can't watch it now!

I was just planning to say something about Luke being so controlling, the way he expected Noah to think about other people... but then I thought about Luke trying to get Reid to think about other people, and Reid responding by suggesting they play doctor, and I totally forgot what I was originally going to say when I hit reply! :D

Seriously! Can you imagine the nerve of someone expecting Noah to think about someone besides himself? Where does Luke get off, thinking that what Maddie wants and needs in her life could be nearly as important as Noah's desire to live a lie?
