From now until December 19th, I'm going to be posting various clips featuring Noah at his most douchetastic. I'm going to say right up front here that any one of these instances could probably be dismissed as understandable and forgivable, brought on by the circumstances, and what have you... but eventually that excuse stops working. when I watch this clip I get the sense that Noah already seemed to think Luke was supposed to just sit around a wait for him until he decided he wanted to be with Luke, and if that was never, well, Luke should just sit around and wait for him anyway.
YES. It's so clear already at this early juncture. It's not just about being jealous -- it's about being possessive. Time and time again, Noah expected Luke to be waiting for him, and to always be there for when Noah needed or wanted him. Forget about Luke's own wants and needs. Those were always secondary.
You're proving to be a most excellent archivist of Noah's douchery. Bravo!

This is definitely a pattern with him, imo. It obviously not only applies to Luke, but it applied to Maddie, and while Richard was "just his friend" (at the same time that Luke was "just his friend" but somehow apparently also his boyfriend based on Noah's hindsight -- DOUCHE!) he certainly seemed to treat him as expendable based on his wants and needs just in the few clips we saw.
I'm actually interested in a character reading of how this is just.like.Winston in some ways, sans the murderous streak. *ponders*

Right? It's like when Noah forced Luke to break up with him. He was all, I'll see you at Java and stuff! And Luke asked what they were to each other and Noah said, We're friends! Uh, Noah? You already broke up with Luke, and just didn't have the balls to tell him. So of course he made Luke have to be the bad guy and be the one to say that it was over.
And yeah, then he still acted like Luke was his boyfriend when he felt like it! The nerve is just...amazing!

Don't you get it? Luke was obligated to consider himself committed to Noah, but Noah was under no obligation to consider himself committed to Luke. It all makes perfect sense, if you're a DOUCHE who is completely self-involved and has a major sense of entitlement!
