Well, so by now you all know I'm on the 15-day DL to start out with. What a pain in the ass, almost literally. What happened (for those who care) is that I evidently moved funny delivering a pitch, and it strained my lower oblique muscle on the right side. So it's been called a back injury, and a side injury, but I guess technically it's more on the side. The actual site of the strain is where that muscle connects to my ribs, so it's a pretty deep one, not just a surface type of thing. It's looking like I'll be couch surfing for at least a few more weeks. What a bummer. Everyone's telling me to just focus on healing and not on being upset that I'm missing so much, but ... Well, I'm trying. This kind of thing just happens when you're a pro athlete, but I'd rather it hadn't. Stan, Alou, and the doctors are being real conservative, they don't even really want me to work out for quite some time. The one funny thing that happened was I went down to Stanford to get a cortisone shot, and on the way back up it hit me: I AM ON STEROIDS NOW!
Can someone get me a book deal?
STEROIDS, I SAID STEROIDS. I AM ON THEM
Hmm, nothing but crickets.
