Manly Combat at the Apartment
A quick weekend update as intersting things have occurred. So yesterday was Matt Morris's B-day and as such we went out to eat at Hickory House BBQ. After surviviving God's wrath in the form of tornadoes and hail, we all piled into cars and headed on down to bufu-east-jesus-butt-crack. on the way back to Morris, Mikey and Rob's place, they stopped to order a cake from the drive through at Dairy Queen. Ask Parris to see the video. Later on that evening, Rob and myself decided to try out an idea of Morris and Ashley's...Knife fighting. We drew up a plan of the human body and divided up the torso into point values. Then, after stripping down to the waist, we battled visciously, highlighters in hand. After seeing the gloriousness of our epic battle, others decided to move the death match out of doors where morris and parris engaged in mortal combat out in the mud. photo's soon.
The Crime Ridden Slum that is UPA
Today, Cole, Emily, and yours truly were driving on back to UPA. We saw two cars pulled to the side of the road across from the apartments with a woman lying on the ground and then up and getting shoved towards the cab of a pickup. She was yelling and staggering about. I thought maybe she was on something and they were trying to get her to the hospital so I stopped to see if they needed any help. When we stepped out of the car. The pickup took off, and we saw the woman stagger around with blood coming from her scalp. I walked over and asked her to sit down and I grabbed my gloves. She was quite out of it, as was her son, I think they were very freaked out. She looked like somebody had smashed her over the head with a bottle or something and she had a bit of glass in her eye. As her son and Emily called the paramedics, she mentioned something about being shot. I thought maybe she was on something, but then, when I went to go ask her son what happened, I saw a bullet hole in her windshield. Her son said somebody ran up and he heard a "pop". After the cops and the ambulance came, we learned from the woman that it was her husband or exhusband and he had pulled in, cut them off, and then shot at her windshield. It looked like he shot down into the car, and either grazed the top of her scalp or she got hit with a lot of glass. Either way she is incredibly lucky as she could have easily been killed. When we pulled up, apparantly they freaked out and took off. Exciting times. It kind of unnerved me as I suppose we could quite easily have been shot as well had the guy wanted to. Kinda freaky. This fine incident, along with the numerous armed robberies around UPA, makes me glad to live in the relative safety of Old Louisiville, with the crack addicts and muggers.
