Reflection: 2010

2010 was one amazing year, probably one of the best years I've ever had.

It all began in Singapore, we unfortunately couldn't access Marina Bay, but we had an amazing New Year's Eve party, though. On 1 January, I woke up at 7am and went to Sentosa Island, an amazing tiny place. Actually I was alone on that goddamn island as all the Singaporeans slept it off whereas I quickly entered a Daiso store before getting some sushi I ate at the waterside while enjoying the sunshine, watching Asians passing by and old men fishing without any success.

We left Singapore at around 2pm and I secretly cried somewhere on deck 7 or 8 because I had such an amazing time in Singapore. Our next station was Koh Samui, where we finally relaxed and enjoyed jet-skiing till our butt hurt like mad.

Somewhere around March I applied for an intern position at Lime Crime Make Up, a company I've crazily loved for about a year and indeed they even accepted me. It was the beginning of a somewhat relaxing 'career' for me. I got to know a lot of new people, helped Doe and Mark, learned to handle the two sides of fame and got some awesome freebies once in a while. It made me become more confident and independent.

March was - at all - the best month this year. My biggest dream finally came true: I travelled to Japan in late March and returned in early April. It was such an enchanting experience and still I remember all the details happening to me. Our first rehearsal was a total mess, I made a fool outta myself by falling off a chair during the actual rehearsal with everyone staring at me. I spent waaaaaay too much money in Japan (ok, forget about that - one can't actually spend TOO much money in Japan), got awesome goodies, fell in love with Fukuoka and our amazing host family - the Yokoyamas - and took the best pictures ever (imho).

I started doing shootings as a make-up artist in late April as well. My first job was frightening yet exciting and I was nervous like hell. I improved my skills, collaborated with some fantastic photographers and models and even worked for Yenikolka during Berlin Fashion Week, another unforgettable moment.

We've been to Rome in June, which was another pleasant trip.

I got my driving license in October, my make-up collection meanwhile consists of two closets, three vanity cases and a cupboard and I got used to applying three layers of fake lashes every morning.

Another highlight was meeting KOKIA for the second time, we even took a picture together, one of my most precious treasures.

Friends came and go, school didn't change at all (it's still an insane place to be), I got two tattoos (in July and October) and I made some important decisions.I got lots of job offers, which I had to reject because of school.

Seriously, I'm a little afraid of 2011. I'll - hopefully - finally graduate from high school, I'll possibly go to Hong Kong or the United States and it's my dream to be a flight attendant by the end of 2014. I'm still unsure of what will be between 2012 and 2014, but I have plenty of time left to figure out.

2010, pictures, memories
