Look at me, updating my journal at 2:23 in the AM (Yay God for 4 hour naps). What a rebel. Speaking of which, tonight after the swim meet (which went surprisingly well), Melanie gave me a ride over to Johnny's, where the little kids all decided to shaving cream and roll Adam's car, since it was the last swim meet (afterall, who are they to buck tradition?). So they all come out and they're like "Come look at Adam's car!" So Mel, Devyn, and I head out to the parking lot and get a nice look at Adam's previously bright blue jeep, which was now nice and white. Does shaving cream ruin car paint? Mel and I thought it did, but no one else could decide.

Anywho, so Mel and I were sitting in a booth while everyone was out admiring their work and I was like "I wouldn't have even thought of doing that at that age." We started laughing about how we would have been the 5 year old in the corner saying "Guys...we're gonna get in trouble..." and then we were like "Wait. We're like that now." Seriously, the only bad thing I've ever done was that whole New York thing. Which was singing. BARBERSHOP SINGING. Honestly. It's not like we were having sex or roaming the streets of New York and hanging out with the crack heads at 57th and 6th. I understand the whole safety thing and the whole worrying factor, but...I don't know. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm a kid still, no matter how much I hate to admit it.

But honestly? I am that kid who reminds everyone of curfew, who didn't break the six month rule, who doesn't cheat on tests and quizzes, who worries about what other people think. And you know what? I kind of like being that kid. I mean afterall, who else is gonna keep the world in alignment? I like never getting in trouble. I like being nice to everyone. I like following the rules. I like being a people pleaser. I like not knowing where the assistant principals' offices are. That's just who I am. I'll probably come home from college with a completely different point of view, but for now I'm still timid little Denise who has yet to smoke her first anything and drink her first anything. And I like it that way.
