Character: Booster Gold, less commonly known as Michael Jon Carter. Just call him Booster, though.
Series/Fandom: DCU; He's got two series of his own, but his timeline is also connected to Justice League stuff, so he's all over the place. Plus, he travels through time, so he really is in like every series in DC, potentially.
Deviance: 1

Age: HAHA like -434? He was born in AD 2442, sooooo. Probably his mid to late twenties.
Gender: All male, bb
Species: Time-traveling, ass-kicking human

Canon Used:
LOTS OF COMICS. Though, the one episode of Justice League Unlimited that he's in is canon to me because that was hilarious. There's a complete chronological timeline of Booster's appearance here, since I'm definitely not smart/resourceful enough to piece them all together. He comes before Infinite Crisis/52/and his own series, roughly during "Formerly Known as the Justice League" and "Justice League Classified" AKA "I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League". Because that's about him chillin' and being a bro.

Appearance:
Luckily, Booster's appearance is pretty consistent throughout his comic appearances. He's built like a football player, largely because he was one. He's 6'5" and weighs 215 pounds, and he is ripped like any other comic book superhero. He also has a very round ass, not gonna lie. But even without Booster's items, he'd still be able to take a regular guy in a fight without much trouble. He's very athletic and strong.

He has blond hair and blue eyes, which goes pretty well with his costume. The costume itself is kind of hard to describe, which is what the picture is for, but I will try. The "base" of Booster's super-suit is blue, and very, uh, skin-tight. From what you see, it covers from his abdomen to the top of his forehead. His ears are covered by it, but most of his face and his luscious golden hair is free. Over this, there are metallic, gold covers. He has one over his legs/crotch (protection from nutshots), over his chest (a star is cut out, though), and wrist guards that have cool devices in them. He also wears a matching golden ring. Over his eyes, theres golden colored goggles. The suit itself is very very high-tech and pretty much the best ever, shut up.

With his bro, Ted

Psychology:
Booster is "a jock with his heart in the right place." And this is very true! But this presents an interesting part of Booster. There is the Booster that everyone sees, and there is the Booster that hardly anyone sees. Of course, no one would really believe that Booster is actually kind, sensitive, and a neat freak, but.

The Booster most people know is one that will draw a groan. Because Booster does present himself as the stereotypical dumb blond jock. He has the muscles, the talent, the looks, and about none of the brain. He loves women (or, particular parts of them) and gets even stupider when a hot woman enters the room. Even if she's sixteen. He loves fame and fortune, and is quick to jump on the chance to gain either one. As such, most of the Justice League looks down on him, and even some villains go "oh that guy."

But that's not who Booster really is. He grew up in the slums of Gotham, and his ticket out of it was being an ace football player, so the dumb jock Booster is a kind of defense mechanism. Because deep inside, Booster has a heart of gold. He's kind, sensitive, and very deeply caring for other people. Sure, he started out his superhero career just trying to amass fame and fortune, but he learned his lesson from meeting friends in the Justice League and elsewhere. Though some might disagree, Booster is a hero simply for the sake of being a hero.

As such, people that get close to Booster will understand why he's managed to remain in the Justice League so long (despite getting kicked out/leaving a few times). Booster is just as much a model hero as some of the more famous leaders of the League, but ends up playing backseat because of his initial impression that he both tries to reverse and worsens. He can't decide what he wants, or something. But he's more than willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of saving the day. He wants to do the right thing whenever he can, he is just...interesting and kind of dumb about it.

But back to that outward Booster, it's not like it's there for no reason. Booster is...slow. He's not stupid, but we'll just say he's book smart and severely lacking in common sense. He doesn't even recognize himself. Yes, seriously. He thinks that picking up ancient, powerful, cursed artifacts is a smart idea. You get the idea. He does stupid things a lot, which is why he's not always considered the most heroic person in the League. That and the fact that despite learning his lesson in general--he still likes money a lot. He married a woman 30 years older than him because she was rich, and is apparently sexually active with her. I know.

He's a friendly guy, though! Even if you've a villain, he'll pretty much let you do as you please as long as you behave. He's not bad enough to arrest a person on the prospect of them doing something bad once, therefore they suck. Unless they kill Ted. Then that's a no-no. He may not be that friendly with them, but he'll be civil unlike some other League members. *cough*Batman*cough* He's an understanding and upstanding guy.

So basically, Booster is the kind of guy that you're lucky to have as a friend. But he's that friend you kind of want to punch in the face sometimes.

We all have that kind of friend.

Other Skills/Abilities:
Booster Gold is not Green Lantern. But he has lots of Green Lantern-like abilities! But let's start with those that he has when he's not in his suit:

- Michael Carter is actually pretty smart. No, really. Why are you so doubtful of that?
- Above average strength and agility! He's still built like a star football player
- And not really an ability per say, but he's very charismatic

But those are all lame not-Green-Lantern powers. With all his equipment, Booster has a wide variety of powers.
- Booster Shots: It's his lame nickname for them, but he's able to shoot energy beams from his wrist guards. They can be adjusted from stun to kill to blasts powerful enough to destroy concrete.
- Legion of Super Heroes Flight Ring: As the name implies, this ring allows Booster to fly, and is activated mentally. It doesn't even need to be worn to work, but it does have to be close to him.
- Force Field Belt: Creates a very powerful force field around Booster that can deflect goddamn missiles or allow him to fly through space by preventing oxygen loss. It has a short range, but it can protect other people around him as well.
-Power Suit: The suit gives him lots of other cool stuff, like increased strength, sensors, communications, cool goggles, and it's powered infinitely

There's also some random powers he has that only appear like three times, so I'll mostly ignore those.

Other Weaknesses:
Without his suit and items, Booster is essentially powerless and is prone to normal human things. But do you really want to see Booster strip down to nothing? You can't really wear underwear in a skin-tight suit, you know.

History:
Booster Gold was born in 2442 as Michael Jon Carter. However, the majority of his life takes place in the 20th century? How is that possible, you ask? Magic and time traveling, of course.

Michael grew up as a relatively normal young man. He had a twin sister, Michelle, and they were both never close to their father. Michael himself was very average, overall. He was never that great of a student, and had an ego the size of Jupiter. However, he was well liked, because he had the gift of gab, you could say. Everyone knew who Michael Jon Carter was, whether they wanted to or not. But Booster did manage to go to college! On a football scholarship at Gotham University, of course. He was the star of college football because of his talent, but his mother fell gravely ill. Seeing no other choice, Michael participated in a gambling ring to raise money to pay for his mother's hospital bills, but he was caught. His mother disowned him for doing the same thing that made their father so horrible, and he was banned from playing football ever again. This left Booster with no other option but taking a job at the Metropolis Space Museum.

However, it was here that Michael had his start. He became interested in the time in the 20th century called "Superheroes and Villains." Depressed and fed up with his now shitty life, Michael decided to enlist a security robot named Skeets' help in stealing several artifacts from the museum. So Michael stole a power-suit, energy bands, energy rods, flight ring, force field belt, and a twentieth-century Visa credit card. With all that, and Skeets, in tow, took Rip Hunter's Time Sphere through to the twentieth century.

And boy, did he make one.

His first superheroic deed was saving President Ronald Reagan from an assassination attempt that he knew would happen. So he cheated, a little bit. But that is so not the point. He did save the President, and received a medal for it. However, when the President asked Michael's name, he was a bit nervous and ended up saying "uhh...Booster... No wait Gold...". So in a misunderstanding, Michael Jon Carter became Booster Gold rather than Goldstar like he was thinking.

Saving the President made Booster a big star right away, just as planned. Using his fame, Booster founded the company Goldstar, Inc. which is solely to make himself famous. He still cheats, though, since he uses Skeets info to make his business into an enterprise. However, in time, Booster got to meet his superhero idol, Superman! But Superman didn't like Booster because of his desire for profit and fame rather than simply doing the right thing. No surprises there.

Booster ended up gaining his own supervillains team, called the 1000, who had a plot to destroy Booster! Oh noes!! Insert some generic fight scenes here, but in a final battle against the Director of Death, DoD is killed, while Booster's powersuit and Skeets are destroyed. Booster only suffered some broken bones, though. While in the hospital, Booster gets some unknown future disease, or something. Whatever. The point is, he meets Rip Hunter and helped him develop the Time Sphere so they can go back to the 25th century for help. There, Booster is a wanted man, but after Booster is healed, he, Rip Hunter, and his sister go back to the 20th century once more.

Back in the 20th century, Booster reorganized his business empire, gained some more supervillains, but then got quite the honor. After proving his heroism in some teamwork with the Teen Titans and others, Booster gets to be in Maxwell Lord's newly re-formed Justice League. Most of its members kind of hate Booster, but he does manage to prove that he's not some assclown to some members, like Batman. But pretty much only Batman. Just sayin.

One big event in Booster's life happened while he was in the Justice League. Michelle borrowed the supersuit that was being developed for Booster's sidekick, but was mistaken for a superhero during an alien invasion. The Justice League prevented the invasion, but Booster wasn't able to save Michelle's life. After this, things only got worse because Lex Luthor was butthurt about Booster's company being cooler. So Luthor was trying to defame his company! Superman helped Booster turn the tables on him, but now Luthor hated Booster even more, oops.

However, it ended up that the Manhunters took the assets of Booster's company not long after. Because of this, Booster turned traitor and helped the Manhunters. Or, at least until they decided they were going to destroy the world. Then it wasn't cool anymore. So because of this, Booster was hunted by like, everyone. The heroes, butthurt Lex Luthor, et cetera. Booster wanted to abandon his costume, and pleaded with Rip to return to the 25th century, but he refused. It was Martian Manhunter that convinces Booster to stay, since J'onn was told that Booster presence was vital. So Booster rejoins the Justice League, and all is well.

(Except everyone hates him. :( )

However, after losing his fame and fortune, Booster ended up meeting his bffl, Blue Beetle II, Ted Kord. Together, "Blue and Gold" fought crime around the globe and ended up being bros. They decided to launch a new business, which was humorously super powered repo men. But hey, it worked pretty well, since they ended up opening a resort. Too bad they became the laughing stock of the Justice League.

This did not sit well with Booster, so he quit the Justice League to start the Conglomerate, which was a super hero team backed by corporations. This didn't sit well with Ted, so they friendship-broke up for a while. Booster did some heroic, but not that notable things in this time. It was only when he averted an assassination of Maxwell that he decided to rejoin the Justice League.

However, another major event of Booster's life came about once Doomsday went on a rampage. Doomsday, as his name would suggest, brought the Justice League to their knees, and injured all of them. Most importantly, Blue Beetle went into a coma, and Superman was killed. This battle left Booster's suit in ruins, but it didn't matter compared to the death of his idol and the coma of his best friend. Wonder Woman led the reformed Justice League, and though Booster was powerless to aid them without his suit, he was still determined to continue being a superhero. This impressed the Justice League members that had simply brushed him off (all of them), so he got some respect after all!

When Ted woke up, however, Booster had rebuilt Skeets and Booster had a new and improved costume! So Booster fully rejoined the League while Ted rebuilt his own armor. Once Ted had finished, however, the Overmaster had come forth. Booster revealed that he had knowledge of the future, thus telling everyone that he was from the future, but promised that they do save the Earth. However, he's overconfident in his abilities, and mortally wounded. In an epic retraction of that, Overmaster has temporarily suspended all deaths and births, so Booster lives!!! Sort of. I don't even know, that shit's crazy.

But anyways, there's some more world-savin' some where in there, but Ted and Booster end up joining a branch of the League led by Captain Atom. It was an aggressive faction that solved the world's problems, but hey, they were pretty effective! There was some XTREME ADVENTURES in here, but I like to pretend this part doesn't happen because of XTREME 90S being terrible. But Booster gets an XTREME suit and XTREMELY saves the world some more, but this branch of the League is dissolved following Hal Jordan's not XTREME funeral.

Superman accidentally destroys Booster's XTREME armor, which is not that bad at all. Instead, Booster gets his current armor from LexCorp and S.T.A.R. Labs! However, Booster and Ted drifted apart as they went their separate ways. Ted started Kord Industries, and Booster continues with his love of fame and heroics, helping out a wide variety of superheroes.

Well, until Maxwell came around again. Maxwell asked Booster about joining a superhero for-profit firm, and Booster was more than happy to join with his JLI friends and Ted. This team was called the SUPER BUDDIES! However, at the time, Booster was married to an older rich woman named Gladys. The name should give you an idea of how much older.

Ted and Booster friendship-made up again, and the Super Buddies started their adventures. Or, misadventures. Whatever.

Anyways, after Sue is killed, Booster quits being a superhero for a while, only to team back up with his bff Ted to find out who was messing with Kord Industries. Unfortunately, the investigation got Ted killed, and Booster was very very upset. He tried to find out who the killer was, but ended up getting his suit's power source destroyed. He quit again, planning to go home.

Booster found Blue Beetle III, Jaime Reyes, and helped Superman take care of Metropolis. However, Booster's credibility was lost when an actor revealed that he had been pretending to be a supervillain, as hired by Booster. Booster tried to regain his credibility, and eventually sort-of did by flying a nuclear submarine about to explode away, seemingly dying. But Booster escaped death!! Mostly because he and Rip Hunter had planned for him to fake his death, and Booster "returned" by masquerading as Supernova briefly.

Booster eventually revealed himself, and the title "Supernova" was passed along to Booster's ancestor in the current day. Yeah, time travel is complicated. Later, Rip Hunter tries to recruit Booster for helping him, but at first refuses, wanting to join the Justice League again. He almost does, but when his certificate turns into Hal Jordan's death certificate, Booster gives up fame and decides to help Rip.

Booster uses the time traveling powers to, at first, bring back Ted, but without Ted's death, Max Lord killed many other super heroes in his place. This is obviously very not good, so Ted sacrifices himself, and Booster has to watch his best friend die once again. However, Rip made it up to Booster by reviving Booster's sister, Michelle.

So now Booster is going on his time travelling adventures, and is much more mature and responsible. :|b
well, sort of. He's still a goober.

Canon Point:
In between Formerly Known as the Justice League and I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League! Since Fire's hair goes from super short to pretty long, I assume that's a couple of months in between. :O

Reality Description:
Booster comes from the magical land of DCU where it's perfectly okay for people clad in spandex to save and/or destroy the world. On a basic level, the world is pretty much the same as ours, but it's got...well, people with superpowers running around in it. There are some people born with the powers, some people that take them from items (like Booster and Ted), and those who gain them through accidents or whatever. Life is pretty normal for most people, but for the superheroes, it's all about saving the day. Because that's what they do!

There are lots of notable cities, such as Metropolis or Gotham, but Booster doesn't live in either of this cities. He's married to a (much) older woman named Gladys for her money, and after being persuaded (not really) to return to crime fighting by Maxwell Lord, is now one of the SUPER BUDDIES. Which is not gay, dammit. They have a store, commercial, and 1-800 number in a Queens, New York strip mall, showing that while they're all pretty strong and capable, they're still considered the bottom of the barrel by pretty much every other superhero.

Now, for all those other (lame) superheroes, there's the legitimate Justice League, which Ted and Booster were both a part of, and that's how they met. They protect the world, blah blah blah, this story isn't much about Booster, so it's not important~

Now, there are tons of characters that Booster knows (and annoys), but the ones he works with are the only important ones. Well, and Batman, but that's not until later.

The most important, without a doubt, is Blue Beetle II, more commonly known as Ted. Ted is Booster's best friend, and they have a rockin' bromance. His boss is Maxwell Lord, a cyborg businessman who wants to make some mad cash. There's also L-Ron, a snarky and slightly depressive robot. The other people with actual superpowers are Elongated Man and his wife Sue, Mary Marvel, and Fire. Most of them hate Booster because he annoys them. Haters gonna hate

There is also absolutely no connection between Booster and Green Lantern. For the record.
