Graphics (Mary)

Oct 19, 2010 16:24

This is every graphic I've made for this thing since we started it. There are a lot. A lot a lot. This is just the catch all post for everything I've made up until now, all future graphics will have their own posts.

Some of these were made to go with fics, but I'm too lazy to link to the fic (sorry...); excerpts are included though.

Some of these graphics may be NSFW.

Icons first, since they're small XD

And now the larger graphics. Obviously I've posted some of these here before, but not all of them, so yeah.

His eyes drifted closed again and she gave a shaky breath. "Sam?"

"Hmm?"

He opened his eyes again with what seemed like considerable effort and April looked at him a moment, her thoughts swirling in her head, unsure of what she wanted to say. His lips curved upward slightly as he looked at her and she let out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding.

"Tell me everything's going to be all right."

He opened his mouth to oblige, and then hesitated.

"Lie to me, Sam," she whispered as she leaned forward slightly. She needed to hear him say it right now, needed so badly to believe him.

"Everything's going to be all right."

"What do you think?" Sam asks, turning to face April. "Keep the blue, or wear the red?"

She tilts her head to the side, staring contemplatively at him. "Show me the red again?"

He holds it up again, watching her face and trying not to think too hard about the way she's perched on his desk, legs crossed and hands gripping the edge of the polished wood.

She tilts her head again, and then wrinkles her nose. "Keep the blue. The red looks too aggressive." Her lips curve slightly upward. "Besides, you look much better in blue."

"Blue it is," Sam murmurs, chuckling softly and ducking his head to hide his grin at how cute he thinks she looks at the moment.

April shifted in her seat and was suddenly very close to him; he could sense her eyes on his face, could just feel the warmth of her breath on his neck. She placed her hand on top of his, her fingers light against his skin.

"You're selling yourself short," she said quietly. "You're a great guy, Sam. Age doesn't mean a damn thing."

The corner of Sam's mouth lifted slightly and he glanced over at April. Her face filled his view and he breathed in sharply, his eyes taking in the shape of her eyebrows, the slope of her cheeks, the curve of her lips.

The silence hung in the air between them, heavy with anticipation, and then she leaned forward and closed the gap between them, touching her lips softly to his.

His grip tightened on his drink again and he took a shaky breath when April pulled away.

"What was that for?" he murmured.

April sat back, a faint flush coloring her cheeks as she smiled a bit sheepishly. "I don't really know."

That's what this is after all, fucking and wanting and lusting, the breaking of every rule he has for the pleasure of her slim body.

"Is this it, then?" April asked and Simon stopped, his hand on the door handle.

"What do you mean?" he asked, turning toward her.

"You and me. Us. Are we done? Because you've checked out, Simon. All your stuff's still here, but it's like you've left."

"I've just been working a lot," Simon replied.

"No," April said, shaking her head, already feeling the tears rising in her eyes.

"April -"

"Don't lie to me, Simon. Just - just don't." Her voice shook a little on the last word and she took a breath, crossing her arms tightly over her chest.

............

"The world could actually be ending this time, April."

"Then let it end!" she screamed, slamming her fist against the back of the chair. Simon turned away from her, running a hand over his face and April moved forward, grabbing his arm and turning him to face her again. "This is the world we live in, Simon, a world that is always fucking ending and in the event that it actually does end, I don't want you to be at work. I want you with me."

Simon was silent a moment, staring down at his hands and when he finally looked up, his face was pained, his eyes sad.

"It's just not that simple," he said quietly.

April nodded, closing her eyes as she backed away from him and gripped the back of the armchair with one hand.

"Okay. Fine." She took a deep breath, trying to dislodge the pain in her chest, and opened her eyes. "I want you out."

"April -" Simon said, his tone pleading.

"You don't want to be here, you don't want to be with me, so go. If you really have to go to work right now, I will pack your bag for you and leave it in the hall, but I want you gone."

Simon looked at her a moment and April thought he was going to say something, to try to explain himself or apologize, and part of her hoped that he would, wished that he would, but instead he turned and walked to the door. He pulled it open and paused in the doorway for just a second before stepping out into the hall, gently closing the door behind him.

April stared at the closed door, the tears rising in her eyes until she had to cover her mouth to stifle the sob that escaped her lips.

"Tell me again," she whispers after a few minutes, absently combing her fingers through his hair. "Tell me again that you love me."

He pushes himself up to look at her, bringing his hands up to move her hair away from her face.

"I love you," he murmurs, his lips brushing against hers.

She smiles brilliantly and kisses him softly.

"I love you too."

Wake you up in the middle of the night
To say I will never walk away again
I'm never gonna leave this bed
So you say go, it isn't workin'
And I say no, it isn't perfect
So I'll stay instead
I'm never gonna leave this bed
-Maroon 5, "Never Gonna Leave This Bed"

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've got a tight grip on reality but I can't
Let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream

She tucks her hair behind her ear and he remembers how smooth and silky it felt wrapped around his fingers, the way it glowed in the morning sunlight as it lay spread over her pillow. She smiles and he remembers how much he used to love to watch her lips curve gently upward, remembers how soft they were under his. She speaks, her voice low, and then he hears her quiet laugh and oh - he closes his eyes a moment, letting the sound of it wash over him, reverberate within him.

April slid forward on the couch, placing her hand on Penny's shoulder; she opened her mouth to speak and then stopped when there was the sound of a key in the lock. The front door opened and closed, and Evan appeared a minute later.

Penny looked up at him and Evan stared at her, his face a mask of guilt. Nobody said anything for a minute and then Evan took a shaky breath.

"I'm sorry," he whispered hoarsely, his brow creasing.

"You're not like most of the men I've known."

He snorts laughter, shaking his head as he slips his hands into his pockets. "You can't have known many men if you think I'm something special."

"More than you think," she murmurs, and then looks up at him, tilting her head slightly. "You're better than most."

They're like bookends... Sam and Nathan prop up the world.

Simon sighed softly, his head falling back against the couch cushions as he tightened his hold on April.

"Simon?" she whispered after a minute.

"Yeah?"

"Does the pain ever go away?"

Simon closed his eyes as his mother's face rose into his mind and he shook his head.

"Not completely. It just hurts a little less as time goes on."
