He smothered a ferocious yawn with the palm of his hand and winced as the fourth tread squeaked under his foot. He was an old hand at stealth entrances, but he’d driven the fifteen hours from Albany in just over twelve, anxious about his brother the entire way. By the time he’d gotten off the exit though, Lee had realized he barely had the energy to make it to his parents’ and he’d have to see Zak in the morning. It’s not like Zak would know the difference, he thought grimly. His gut clenched again when he thought of it. His baby brother in a coma

Thanks! This is a weird fic for me, full of a lot of disconnection for both of them, so the moments when they do touch each other are kind of very heightened. :)

You have no idea how much I'm messing with cannon for this story. The end result will be a Kara who isn't as brash and defensive but still the same at the core (while managing to be about a billion times stronger then Christine).

Oh I'm sure! She's so appropriate for the period certainly, which makes historical fic so interesting for Kara. And you already know I love Phantom...

This is from a multi-chapter piece that I started more than a year ago. I'm going to try to finish it for the Pentathalon if I have time. It refers a little bit to my story Prologue, which is my head pre-canon, but you don't need to have read that. PG rating, but major angst warning :)

Her last load of belongings is stowed in storage and Sam is already down on the planet as Kara prepares to leave Galactica. The prospect of living on the ground after so long in space is thrilling and she's saying her farewells to the pilots with only a hint of sadness.

And yet when she sees Lee across the hangar deck, over from Pegasus for whatever reason, all thought of Sam and New Caprica slips her mind and Kara's grinning so hard it hurts. He loves her. For just a second she's giddy

Oohh so angsty. Intriguing too. That one moment where she sees him and is so joyful is so interesting, but she's already married to Sam! And yet they still had a "night!" And then Lee being so honest for once...and twisting the knife by calling her broken! Oh kids!! **hugs them**

Thank you! Back before I got hooked on LJ (which is a CRAZY long time ago) I was thinking about writing a whole parallel-canon series, following from Prologue, about what it would really have meant if what happened in Daybreak was true. But...then I got distracted :) My favorite arc of the parts I did write was basically the season 3 chunk, so I'd like to go back and finish it off.

Not yet started, but here's my K/L idea for the pentathlon.

It's a companion piece with my B/S fic for it and it's set on Earth 1 with Kara and Lee finally getting a chance to talk when he comes upon her when she's trying to figure out what she is. I haven't done much with them at this point in the show so I'm curious how it goes but I like this setting for both ships to kind of clear the air.

Does that work?

Ooh exciting. Earth 1 was definitely a missed opportunity for them! The pentathalon (which I just read about today) sounds fun!
