Would you like me to make you an extra-sexy music mix as your wish fulfillment for the essay? Just for you, writerboo.

You are delightful and filthy and I have a crush on you. Just a little one so as not to interfere with the Kara/Nora OTP.

(Note to Bee: BEE! I AM TOTALLY ALLOWED TO HALF RPF, RIGHT? YOU NEVER LET ME NORMALLY.)

So interesting that you think the sexin' over here is uniformly hawt. I can't speak to most of the fandoms you talked about, but I generally find BSG sex to be some of the tamest stuff out there. Written well for the most part but pretty standard stuff. (Especially in comparison to HP, land of debauchery, bdsm, orgies, incest and just all sorts of, ahem, magically enhanced nakenfuntime.

I do think that the vanilla is reflective of an UST laden ship on screen, with little actual physical fulfillment and lots of hurt feelings and, you know, dealing with genocide. So that when they do get together, there's intensity but not a whole lot of creativity. Because it's such a relief to get them there and get them off, as it were. The hotness is fulfilled by the act itself as opposed to the trappings.

Oh okay. I read ya and I agree. RDM has Issues with sex. Lot's of them. And we were the people he tool those issue out on the mose.

And I haven't read that one. I'm not really a fan of those pairings. I'm a Harry/Ron, Hermione/Fred/George, Kingsly/Percy, Draco/Snape (or Draco/Snape/Lucius (I know, I know)), Voldemort/Wormtail kind of girl.) But I love to read the kink. So it's been very much a PG-13 experience. A fun one! I'll admint to being a person who gets easily impatient and skips over sex scenes when they're too prolonged - whether on a bed or a flying trapeze

That's funny that you edited it out, but yeah, I totally understand the compulsion over here. I get monstrously bored writing sex scenes, so I have a tendency to keep it simple, but even so, I have second guessed before posting in this fandom where I haven't in others.

I have second guessed before posting in this fandom where I haven't in others.

Really? Because a of a perception of prudishness? Or just a fear that that particular brand of sexin (whatever it may be) won't be liked/appreciated, etc.?

A little of both. Although not prudishness, more like innocence in that there isn't a lot of interest and therefore not a lot of knowledge in this sort of thing.

For example: A certain kind of innocence creates a misunderstanding for the more hard core elements of domination and submission which, in turn, would create a misunderstanding on the very nature of both roles in a fic with a clearly submissive/domninant relationship, especially if it were Kara put in the role of the submissive. I think there are submissive and dominant charecteristics in both of them, so you play it either way and I'd buy it providing it's well thought out (I have no patience for badly written and gratuitous power exchange). However, having been in the fandom long enough to know which way the wind blows, it isn't worth the aggravation and explanation and the multiple assurances that, no, writing a character as a submissive does not mean that you think that character is weak or less somehow.

Does that make sense?

It makes total sense, but I'm still not going to stop bugging you to write TPE fic. B/c I still say we need that like WHOA.

This comment broke my line of thought. I was actually making progress with my epic (of course that is like that only in my strange engineer mind project for today's subject when my Visio decided to go bad on me so I took a break to see what you girls are speaking about.

and now I'm like..... ok, my mind is black. and all of me is hurting because of all the laughing.

What’s that one fic where Kara is all like, “Oh, no, I can’t come from getting licked off; I’m not that into it”, and Lee is all like, “Betch, let me show you how this shit is done”, and then there’s hot licking and Kara coming apart and alkja;lkj;alskj!!!!! YES YES YES!!! And then later she reciprocates and face frakking and oh gods!!!!

i don't know the name but i think that I remember that one. When KAra says that I was like - Girl, don't be crazy... he's good at this, trust me, I KNOW - from all the other fics where this happened.

Some fangirls are said to have tracked down said shards of glass and used them to slit RDM’s throat. if they didn't I'll make sure ( ... )

**laughs so hard that coffee shoots out of nose**

BUT OMG SO TRUE. SO EFFING TRUE. THE FIC TOLD US SO.

I love how our quasi-intellectual tone has just gone straight to hell today.
