In-Game Character Information
Name: Ciel Phantomhive
Series: Kuroshitsuji
Age: 12
Personality:
Ciel's personality can easily be described in one word, ill humored. He's a master at sulking, brooding, and being down right condescending. Part of this attitude stems from being precocious for his age (preferring to engage in conversations with adults); the rest just from being an immature child underneath it all.
As the sole heir to the Phantomhive estate, Ciel felt forced to grow up at a much faster rate than an average child. He hides behind a frigid mask of indifference to avoid facing deep-seated, mentally exhausting pain and perhaps even truth itself. It's difficult for Ciel to trust anyone as he seeks revenge for his parent’s fate never knowing who might have been involved.
The person closest to him is his butler. Unfortunately, the school doesn't exactly allow for butlers so he's completely on his own. He enjoys a good game of chess, a cup of tea, or a battle of the minds. When he has to he can be charming, and put up a good front. He's never seen without this exquisite ring which is the sign of the Phantomhive family. He also holds a soft spot for the rest of his staff and another relative.
Background:
He was born to a family of full-blooded witches and wizards of high standing in some circles. His parents were murdered when he was very young so he is unaware of what their views on muggles, and other creatures might have been and as a result of their untimely demise he's hell bent on tracking down those responsible. The whole family had been targeted, so Ciel was lucky to escape with his life (although he might not agree). He does bare a bitter reminder to the whole affair easily covered with eyepatch but occasionally causes him physical pain.
With assistance from his butler, Ciel has since surrounded himself and his household with the necessary security measures and a motley staff who are more useful than they may appear.
Ciel never showed any signs of wizardry until lately, which prompted a response from the school. Enthused, or as enthused as Ciel Phantomhive would permit himself, at the prospect of being able to defend himself via his own power he prepared to leave for school leaving his butler in charge of the family business. The resources available at the library would be of great interest to him. He is more interested in the dark arts forbidden or not. Ciel is not foolish enough to openly discuss this fact

Journal Sample:
I find myself worrying about the state of affairs at home. My butler is a capable man, overly so.. the business should be in no real jeopardy. It's disconcerting to lend the reigns to someone else. School has been uneventful so far, dare say it it's more peaceful than at "home". No broken dishes, no more attempts to improve my disposition, no self-important businessmen trying to pull a fast one, and most notably absolutely no noisy servants. I guess I would be lying if I said I didn't miss them at all. Pfft what do they give us these journals for anyway. Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans seem to be popular and for some reason the words "Lemon drop" keep popping up as well. You'd think it was some kind of code.

Ciel was about to board the Squarewarts Express, a suitcase in each hand. His face showed very little emotion as his staff bid him their farewells. There were a few tears shed, and a "Go get them, Boss" or two. All and all it was quite pleasant, if he cared for that sort of thing. Ciel's eye was drawn to one staff member inparticuliar. The man towered above him was dressed all in black, finely tailored waistcoat and all. His smooth white gloves were pristine no matter how much cleaning he may have engaged in before hand. The two looked at each other like each was waiting for a sign that it was truly time for Ciel to go. The butler waited patiently for the other staff members to leave before approaching the boy. Moments of silence passed where only the clicking of shoes could be heard.
" Well?" Ciel broke the silence, growing weary of the delay.
Arms extended the butler said, " Isn't customary to hug someone who is leaving on a long term basis..?". Ciel dropped his suitcases and recoiled from the idea, emitting a sound that could only be described as undignified as a response. Ciel glared at the man before him, it seemed like sometimes the butler just did things to get under his skin, the man was truly a demon. Pleased with himself the corner of the butler's mouth turned slightly upward as he abandoned the hugging stance.
" You'll find everything has been taken care of, " The man nodded towards the suitcases and with a amirk added, " You'll have to get used to taking care of yourself..".
Something about the comment sounded backhanded. The boy gave a smirk of his own and retorted, " Afraid that you'll outlive your usefulness to me..?". The two said no more, exchanging one last all-knowing gaze that was sure to confuse onlookers, anyone blessed with common sense or a PHD in psychology. Taking the time to pick up his suitcases once again, Ciel nodded to his servant and boarded the trai.
