Everyone..(a few people) says i've grown up too quickly. This saddens me.
I'm brought back to the days where I believed Peter Pan's promises that we'll never grow old. Somtimes i wish that mortgages, car payments, responsibilities and hour drives to work didnt have to exist. I demand.."Take me to Neverland" Let us food fight for fun, swing around in trees and laugh and laugh all day.
It's amazing how we spend our childhood waiting to get older..and now as i pause and realize how quickly life thus far has seemed to go by..i just keep wishing time would turn back and i could be younger and more irresponsible all over again. I dream of days off in sunshine, being on boats, skipping school to go out for breakfast, going on walks to spy on boys, playing in trees at the park. I miss my biggest concern being the fear of wearing flip flops to school. I can wear flip flops and tank tops and short shorts to school now, and i don't even want to (just the flip flops).
I am so thankful that some of my friends..few of my friends..have stayed in contact through time. I'm so happy to feel happiness in their company on odd occasions like summer break, and spring break. Although i feel terribly left out of the college world, and terribly left out of the world in which people party and drink and have fun all of the time, i'm happy that i'm here when everyone comes home..and that i can say hello all over again.
This summer will be my Neverland.
Possibly switching to four 10 hour shifts at work..hell yeah bitches hell yea!
