grant writing
so i've been in the post-graduation freak out, the what the hell am i gonna do with my life freak thing. i've been looking at various jobs, and my parents have suggested grant writing as something that would really fit me, so i've thought more about it and looked into some kind of instruction for it since i have no clue how to do it. this morning i found an online course called becoming a grant writing consultant through our local community college and i signed up for it. it starts on january 16th, and is six weeks long. i am really excited for it because it'll be the exact time i need to recover from my surgery. i was getting restless because i'm anxious to exercise and get back to the gym. this will keep me busy, and i think grant writing for awhile until grad school could work out well for me. research + writing= excellent fit for me. also, the instructor wrote "grant writing for dummies," so hopefully that means she knows what she's talking about. the course seems to largely focus on the business angle of it which i like, ie making a profit, how to recognize jobs that will make you quick money and which ones to avoid, how to make yourself more marketable as a grant writer, etc. it looks pretty cool. i am stoked.
today we went to sweet tomatoes for lunch. i had never been, and it was delicious. mmm. i ate so much, and i am eating again. i've been eating so much since we've returned from baltimore. i think it's because i had only had a 40mg shot of t 3 weeks ago (i had to reduce it for surgery), and i just got a 100mg shot yesterday. anyways, we stopped by books a million before we came home and i bought two magazines, psychology today and verdant. i had never heard of verdant, and i was looking for some kind of environmental magazine, but i couldn't really find anything and it looked the closest to what i wanted, so i got it.
