Activities: Reading and studying Russian and Slavic dialogues. She also practices Tai Chi, and kickboxing.
Home: Has a small apartment in Madison WI that she shares with her youngest brother, David. Since she is away on leave most times Addie generally just leaves him alone and treats it as if it is his apartment. Being that David is the youngest it just makes it easier on her knowing that he's taken care of.
Friends: Addie doesn't generally make friends easily, being the only girl in the family she was often pushed into situations that the rest of the group preferred and she simply followed their lead. Even during her deployment and subsequent stationings while in the military she generally kept her relationships purely on a professional guideline, only socializing with two of her colleagues, Marcus Brent and Daryl McManus, both of whom were like big brothers to her. Aedeline had been noticed by Major Riley on base a few times, and after exchanging comments on personal logs for a while the two had dinner, and from there a rather quick assumption could be made that they have been together since that first meeting. Many of their fellow officers still believe that they are capable of maintaining a very professional relationship for work, regardless of their affections off duty. Even Teyla has been heard to mention that Aedeline is good for Major Riley.

Family History: Aedeline's mother was born in Czech a few weeks before her parents immigrated to the United States, where Addie's father was born in the US just outside Chicago. Both of her parents ended up at the same factory when Inessa was sixteen, and Ivan was almost twenty-one. Both shared the same family ideals and soon Inessa was pregnant with Anton. They married extremely young and lived with Anton's family. When Milos was born four years later they moved out into their own home in a small town called Watertown in Wisconsin. Inessa worked at the local library while Ivan ended up working in local factories. When Inessa became pregnant with Aedeline she quit her job at the library citing that she had become depressed and soon began her slow decent into a manic like state. After Addie's birth she wanted nothing to do with the children, and Ivan started to work the third job on the weekends to afford his wifes new medical expenses.
Inessa disappeared for two months, never coming home from a therapy session. Ivan worried that she had simply just given up, or that perhaps she had finally realized that she had missed out on so much given her age at the time of their marriage. A panicked phone call would lead Ivan to pick Inessa up where she was found at a truck stop just outside Milwaukee. Seven months later David was born. After the birth of David Inessa regressed completely into an almost catatonic state. Concerned neighbors called worried that Aedeline and David were not being taken care of. Authorities took Inessa away, and a long legal battle ensued where Ivan fought to keep custody of his children. All the children that could testify on their own behalf did, and Ivan ended up keeping all four children with him.
Inessa was diagnosed with a from of paranoid psychosis and was on a program of medications that kept her lucid, but controllable. Ivan never visited her, and two years into her stay at the hospital she took her own life. Autopsy revealed that she had ingested an overdose of her medication, probably due to her hiding it instead of taking it daily. Aedeline only faintly recalls her mother and at times wears her mother's wedding band on a chain around her neck.
