I love reading your essays and insights into Harry Potter.

I just wanted to let you know that I thought your post yesterday was hilarious. Hee! :D

I am relieved to hear that. I was afraid I would be the only one who would find it funny.

Nope- I even linked to it in my journal. I did have to explain it to people who don't read your journal regularly, but I don't think anyone who has you on their flist would be confused.

I friended you for posts like this. You're eloquent, and measured, and very much right.

Hope you don`t mind that I just friended you. Your posts fill me with such joy (and much to think and ponder about) that I couldn`t live with myself if I hadn`t added you to my flist. I`m constantly amazed at your insightful takes on HP. :)

I agree with you about the importance of subtext. IT is interesting precisely because it is so open to interpretation. Using your example of the relationship between R and S, let's come up with the alternate view: is homosexuality the only interpretation? By raising this question I am not in any sense trying to argue against homosexuality, in RL or in HP. Good R/S is fun to read! My point is that there is another explanation ( ... )

Yes, a lot (if not most) people read about the joint Christmas present and shaked their fist at Umbridge for causing Remus to become unemployed and broke. But it can be read differently. Personally I have no opinion on this, except that this whole thing will probably remain a mystery.

I'd be delighted. Now I just have to figure out who #1 is. :)
