Palm Oil

I just thought i'd post this info for people interested, especially the vegans, vegetarians and animal friendly people here.
One of the biggest things that attracted me to the no poo method was that i could totally avoid products with palm oil for my hair.
Palm oil production is a major cause of habitat destruction for orang-utans and other animals, and is contained in MANY foods (often listed as vegetable oil, but you can sometimes tell it's either palm oil, palm kernel oil or coconut oil by seeing if the label says that it contains saturated fats - these are the only vegetable oils that contain saturated fat) and also MANY cosmetics, some of which it won't even be listed as an ingredient on. Palm oil is often what SLS is made from.
even the "organic" shampoo and conditioner i used before contained palm oil, it is very hard to avoid, but i do try to wherever i see an opportunity to.
I know a lot of people on this comm use Dr. Bronners, so I checked their website and was very pleased to see that they claim to use only sustainable palm oil, not from plantations contributing to forest destruction. YAY! (the fact that it's also organic and fair trade is awesome too)
