Before showering, I looked at my hair in the mirror. No hint of grease, hurrah! I debated with myself to just rinse WO but then I also wanted to try this BS thing for a whole week straight. So BS mix it was. Last night before going to bed, I asked my dad to smell my hair and he said that my hair smelled sour! Too much vinegar? Not enough washing out? I don't know.
Today i cut the BS in half. I figured that it was what made my skin itch so much yesterday so i reduced the amount. I jumped in the shower, wet my hair, and halfway through, I decided to bend over so it won't go down my chest and back and make me itch again. I flipped my hair, and had a hard time detangling! I had to jump out of the shower dripping wet to grab my wide tooth comb and detangle my hair. When that was done, I slowly poured the BS mix. Some ran down the sides of my face and I was paranoid that my face would start to itch later. Thankfully it didn't and so I didn't come out looking like a boiled lobster. Hehe. I rinsed out the BS mix well, so that there wouldn't be much residue to react with the vinegar rinse.
Today I added rosemary essential oil to the vinegar mix. At first I added only a tiny drop, but then decided to add some more once I smelled it. The rosemary didn't stand out. I added 2 more drops. Mixed it, then poured it over my hair. Mmmm... rosemary salad! I was still bent over, and that was hard when I had to soap up. When I poured the vinegar rosemary mix on to my hair, it didn't feel as soft right away, unlike yesterday. I figured it must be because I cut the BS in half, so it's less alkaline, bla bla bla. I made another cup of vinegar and rosemary essential oil mix. By the time I was done mixing, my hair already felt softer. Did I just waste vinegar and rosemary oil? Methinks so.
Anyway, I flipped back my hair so I could stand upright (besides, my back was starting to complain and I don't want to look like Quasimodo or something). I washed out the vinegar, loving the smell of rosemary. Stepped out of the shower, towel dried my hair. I couldn't really smell the rosemary when I was toweling my hair. The smell was stronger but still very faint when I was in the car about 20 minutes later on the way to piano classes. My brother smelled my hair and he said that it smelled like vinegar and smoke. Smoke?! Where did that come from? Was it the rosemary he smelled, but didn't know what it was? Hmph.
Well, my hair got some sunshine today, and I think that helped dissipate the vinegar smell. It's not been about 10 hours since I washed my hair. If I sniff hard enough, I can detect the vinegar.. and none at all of the rosemary. Tomorrow, I will try rosemary tea and some vinegar. I boiled a big pot of fresh rosemary from the garden to use in the shower.
