I’ve been on no poo for close to a year, with the same basic routine (teaspoon of bs in a cup of water, teaspoon of wv in a cup of water), and it’s been cleaning my hair great! I’ve been working on growing out my dye-damaged hair. I got a short-ish haircut last week, and most of the damaged hair should now be gone.
That’s when I realized that I still have a lot of breakage on the new hairs that grew during my no poo time. Now, there’s two possibilities and relating questions:
1) My hair might just be pretty weak and break-prone. In which case: what natural remedy could help this? Now that my hair is shorter, I can’t really wear it up anymore, so it’s exposed to winds etc. Is there anything I can add to the rinse, or any leave-in natural product that would help?
2) It could be that my routine is too harsh for my hair, or that my hair is so weak that it doesn’t like the scrubbing I do on my scalp when I wash with bs. I can’t lower the bs amount very much. Could that be it, though? In which case, are there any changes in routine and/or technique you could recommend?
Any answers, as always, are greatly appreciated! =)
