I used Henna to color my hair last night! I used
thebottom left one. I barely used 1/3 of the container since I have short hair and only wanted to do my roots. I mixed a few spoonfuls of the henna with some brewed India tea [I let it brew for more than thirty minutes so it would be dark!], some olive oil and some ACV, I let it sit for a while so I could get everything else ready that I needed to do for the process.
I covered the roots on the front and the side all the way back to the crown and then covered it with a shower cap and sat at the computer for over an hour because I was plugged in to the wall! :-) I had a heating pad on my head so that the heat would help the color hold better because it is supposed to make a difference. I let it sit for an hour and 15 minutes.
I already no 'pooed that day so my hair was clean. I made two ACV rinses to get the gunk out. The first one, I just used to saturate my hair so the stuff would loosen up a bit. It got most of it. I rinsed and repeated. I did use a little coconut oil between rinses. The second mixture had a bit of tea tree oil in it. The ACV didn't seem to strip the color at all and it did a great job of getting the excess henna off of my scalp. My hair feels clean and totally silky and shiny today! I am going to get a thermal heat cap for next time! :-)
