Posted here with my first no 'poo.
Skipped a day and today was round two. As before, I've got nothing but good things to say about it!
Just as I predicted, the hives and itching after no 'poo-ing were significantly less than the first time. Yay!! This confirms for me that the problem definitely lies with whatever toxic commercial residues are being removed from my scalp and hair, and not the BS or ACV themselves. Whatever that nastiness is, there's a whole lot of it, even despite the fact that I recently had my cut my hair cut short (it had been a pageboy cut about 2 inches below my chin). The first no 'poo gave me a lot of relief from the terrible itching and some flaking I'd been having, although there was still a little itching in places. I found that if I absentmindedly scratched my scalp, and then forgot and touched my skin, I broke out wherever I had touched. So I guess it's going to take some time before I get rid of all that junk in there. Btw the dramatic improvement after my first no 'poo convinced me to give my hairbrush the BS and ACV treatment too, so I don't keep reintroducing the same irritants back into my hair. I'm not using any commercial styling products for the same reason. I'll cook up some flax seed styling gel instead.
Incidentally, I stand corrected... now that my scalp wasn't so irritated to begin with, I was able to pay closer attention to when the skin rash seems to appear. I thought it was happening after the BS rinse but actually it seems to happen while I'm letting the ACV sit, as it drips down my neck etc. So the ACV is apparently dissolving something, and if I keep no 'poo-ing I will no doubt continue to see improvement as I did today.
My scalp and hair feel clean. My hair feels really light and takes only a few minutes to dry now. As for the softness, it's even silkier than after the last no 'poo. Seriously, the softness is just amazing and it's so shiny! I never had this with 'poo and conditioner, or even with spray shine back when I used to use that. Just awesome all the way around.
