Ad links in emails

From the code, it looks like this will affect all non-paid users, not just Plus users as previously seen.

The ad being added, with the links in bold:MSN delivers the latest in News & Politics and Entertainment straight to LiveJournal. [WEB BUG]
It's possible this might hint at some future integration and promotion of MSN on the LiveJournal site ( Read more... )

It seems to be replacing the HP text ad (for the Writer's Block contests or whatever that 'partnership' was for; I think you posted about this).

Yeah, but I never actually saw those for some odd reason! And I don't seem to get email notifications to my tester account plus_tester for some reason, and I haven't really had the time to look into it much.

Which explains why I have found the news post announcing the sponsored contest (back in August 07) but not any post here in no_lj_ads talking about it. Obviously, I've dreamed that post.

I wonder, if there is going to be ad links in emails to free and plus users will that include their messages in their inbox on Live Journal?

I wouldn't think so, no. The code doesn't give an indication of that, and I think the inbox is monetized by the ads shown there to Plus users.
