Make Snap Shots go AWAY

There have been a number of posts about how annoying Snap Shots are here in this comm, so I'm x-posting from my journal. You can turn them off in your own journal, but they still show up on your friends lists, much like that stupid navigation strip. Or that annoying "contextual hover menu".
HERE are your instructions on how to make that shit go away, even if you don't use Firefox like me, so that you aren't interrupted by pop-ups while you're trying to read something.
I think this new "development" is why LJ did an about-face about whether or not people are responsible for the content of the material they link to--because they knew that they were going to be making it pop up on readers' screens whether they chose to go there or not, and possibly also because their new "partner", Snap.com, didn't want certain types of material on their servers.
