[Upon arriving, Sephiroth had remained calm. He is trained to operate independently in the field and to deal with crisis situations. Panic and confusion would only hamper him. It takes a great deal to make him behave erratically or emotionally. He'd decided to conduct his own investigations before addressing the community as a whole

[ he sounds beyond surprised, mostly because...he is. 8( he doesn't realize this Sephiroth and the Sephiroth he met are...really rather different entities. ]

He doesn't expect that everyone would be pleased to see him; ShinRa does have enemies. But his calm, precise tone doesn't change.]
Indeed. And who am I addressing?

He frowns, staring... ]
You don't... remember?
[ All things considered, he should still be on more of a defensive than he is, but Sora's been here long enough to know that memory lapses can actually mean something. Face doubles and alternates not the least of his trouble... ]

[He doesn't appear to be from Wutai, and he looks rather young to be a terrorist, the two categories that enemies of ShinRa are most likely to fall into. He's certainly not a Genesis clone.]

N..o. Uh.
[ Awkward if this is absolutely the wrong person. Complicated-ish if it is but kind of different. Sora's accustomed even now to just barreling through things. Pausing to think still throws him somewhat. ]
I'm not. My name's Sora.
I thought you were...you're Sephiroth - the one who kept asking about Cloud...or you look a lot like him, mostly.
[ Neverending spiral of awkward. He trails off, squinting at the video feed. ]

Cloud? [He's familiar with Infantryman Strife, if only because he was a part of the Modeoheim mission, along with Zack, but in this context, he doesn't make the connection.] I have no knowledge of the incident you're referring to, and I have no intention of asking any such questions.
I am Sephiroth, and the only Sephiroth I know of, but I assure you, I have not been here before.

Weird. He backtracks accordingly, giving the lookalike a sheepish glance. ]
Well...huh. Um. Sorry about that I guess...must be a mixup. That happens here sometimes - same face different person.
[ Usually a different name too but Sora's got a tendency for giving people the benefit of the doubt... ]
If you're here longer, you'll probably see.

There's no need to apologize. I've heard that this place can play tricks on one.
I'm not particularly looking forward to it, but I suppose I may. [He allows his annoyance to show a little more than he usually would. His nerves were already frayed before his arrival here.]

No, no, not here. Well I mean, not that I know of or remember.
But in one of the worlds I went to, he was there. [ You were there? No. He has to mentally correct himself. ] Well, more than one.
He looked like you and his name was Sephiroth. But he had a wing. So...that's a big difference in a way. I should've noticed that first.

Sephiroth is silent for a moment. There are few things he'd less like to hear, as his mind immediately goes to Genesis and Angeal. The wings they'd manifested that had marked them as monsters. If they were monsters, then what is he...?
It's troubling, but he comforts himself with the fact that Sora said this happened in other worlds. It's a cold comfort.]
Yes, an undeniable difference. That's very odd. Until now, the only world I've set foot in has been my own.
