Yesterday? A really lucky day for me. Today? Not so much.
Wednesday: The weather was BEAUTIFUL, so I walked all the way to class from the train and ran into some crazy people that will end up in a story one day. Example: McDonald's worker that was passing out flyers, saw my Wicked shirt, and said, "Defy gravity, baby, defy gravity." I loved that guy. Anyway. My class was tons of fun, albeit awkward at times since we had to read our work aloud and although mine was fine, there was one kid whose story sounded like an M rated fanfiction with himself as the leading man. Talk about awkward. Oh, and apparently the life lesson of the day was "Lesbians get old, too." I don't even want to know. So, after class I walked down to mom's office, which is a block away from the oriental theatre. I decided to enter in the ticket lottery on a whim, figuring my Wicked shirt would give me luck. It did. I won tickets in the fourth row, main level, for $25 each. AMAZING. And then I met Annaleigh Ashford and all of the other amazing people after the show. Such a great day.
But then we get to today: Storm warnings. Rainy. Dark at 5 PM. The train was so crowded that I stood in the vestebule the entire 40 minute ride. I got home and somehow managed to spill juice on my laptop, and now I get a crazy error message which seriously depresses me, because that laptop is my new baby and I need someone to FIX IT. GAH. Then, the tornado warning came (which made me very irrational. I was carrying bins of important things into the basement in case of the actual tornado, which never came). Then, to conclude my lovely day, I somehow slammed my foot into a pillar in our foyer, my foot/ankle is throbbing right now, and there were no functional ice packs in our house.
Sigh. Braces come off tomorrow morning, which is good but also scary because it'll be seriously painful. And they have to do those STUPID impressions, with the plaster that tastes like chalk and cement and chokes me. Then I have senior pictures, which I guess aren't that bad. And then dinner with the family at my aunt's house for my birthday, since on my actual birthday I'll be flying to New York (!!!). That's the only thing that's keeping me sane right now- in a week, I'll be going to sleep so I can wake up for my 6:30 flight to meet Laura Bell Bundy, Liz Caplan, Kerry Butler and feel at home again. :)
