Bright Sunshiney Day

This past summer, I have been ridiculously content.

I'm not quite positive what the reason for it is, but I'm not certain if I want to know. I just like how I feel, right now.

I'll admit that some of it is material: I'm making more money than I'm used to making, and therefore I feel okay making purchases that I would have backed out of, earlier on. I just bought a pair of Abercrombie and Fitch sweat pants for too much money because they felt softer than the cheaper ones. I know. Ridiculous.

My two favourite authors, Jo Rowling and Stephenie Meyer, published books this summer. I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the evening it was released. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer has yet to be opened, although it came out today. I'm in the middle of rereading its predecessors (Twilight and New Moon) and rather than just dive into the new book, I have decided to finish rereading New Moon. I like to make books last.

I'm getting a lot of alone time this summer. This is something I've grown unaccustomed to; in the dorms, you are rarely alone. Now that I work evenings and my family works days (most of the time), I've got the house to myself during the mornings until I'm off to Red Robin.

I thought this summer was going to be one of love and relationships for me. I'm actually kind of glad that it hasn't been. I'm enjoying spending time with myself, making selfish decisions and loving my company.

In any case, I'm happy. I hope all of you are happy, too.
