Day 30: Putting the LOW in HALLOWEEN

Oct 31, 2014 21:56

Ugh, I'm sick. Had a headache this morning, took a nap, woke up with a worse headache and stuffy nose. *shakes fist at the world* So J brought home some good pizza from the new fancy place in our neighborhood, and we watched the end of The Lost Boys on TV followed by the inevitable hour or so of the parade coverage (on mute because wow, inane commentary is inane). Now I'm drinking tea and feeling sorry for myself, but at least the heaters in the building are set to superhot, and my fave DJ is partying in London dressed as one of his lady!besties, and I get to sleep in tomorrow, so.

Went to see The Tiger Lilies at St. Ann's last night. They're brilliant performers, but for some reason I thought their act would be rather energetic, yet the show consisted mostly of slow songs (and a few rousing clap-along numbers, including a song about failed suicide attempts - jolly!). Still, I am friends with some hilarious people who can make every experience extra fun, including a somewhat soporific gig in a drafty venue. Then there were drinks & desserts under a giant spider decoration, and... that's as good a Halloween celebration as I could possibly want. ♥

In conclusion...

ARGH-MANI. That's what I'm wearing next year. Brilliant.
