...for a select few people, and thanks to a friend, I got to be one of them! Meaning: I HAVE SEEN THE AVENGERS AND SOMEHOW, MIRACULOUSLY, HAVEN'T YET EXPLODED FROM SHEER JOY. You guys, it's really fucking good! I can't wait to see it again!!! Aaaaand that's all I'm going to let myself say because anything else might be considered spoilery. ♥

Another thing that is making me squee this week: some days ago in a
POI discussion thread, I mentioned an idea about an Inception/Person of Interest crossover... and now I can't stop thinking about it. Will someone please adopt the bunny and give it a good home? Let me
tell you more:
So let's say someone is interested in the Machine (maybe the government - US or some other - or maybe a civilian baddie like The Root) and they hire the dream-stealers to find out about Finch's access to the numbers. Because the only person that Finch apparently ever trusted in his life was Nathan, the plan is to create a dream that would feel like any regular dream to Finch, and then for Eames to pose as Nathan to extract that knowledge. But, of course, Finch is a genius so he 1) can tell that's not Nathan (he's had dreams about Nathan, and this doesn't feel like one of them); 2) has heard about dream theft, albeit only as a theory, and manages to figure it out pretty quickly; and 3) throws off the thieves by populating the dream with his projections - his own alter-egos - while Finch himself finds a way to escape... into a deeper level of dreaming. There, Finch builds his own dreamworld (a city made of books! a sky that looks like the Machine's interface, or something!) and shoots any strangers that might show up... so Arthur decides he has to bring in Reese, who has to play along because it's the only way to save Finch's mind due to blahblahplotcakes. So Reese goes in, but Finch thinks he's just a dream - and maybe lets himself do in his subconscious what he wouldn't dare in reality. And then Finch and Reese spend what feels like YEARS together in the dreamworld and grow quite close before they wake up, and the dream thieves decide they wanna be on the side of the good guys, and happy ending for all.
Or maybe Finch uses the dreamtime himself as his vacation time (because he can't really fly off to Aruba while the Machine spits out numbers, now can he?) and Reese finds out and follows him into the dream for whatever reason, and blahblahporncakes.
I really hope someone writes this - or any version of this crossover, honestly - because I can't stop thinking about the possibilities! And they're both Nolan verse (uh, by brotherly connection) so it wouldn't be too big of a stretch on either side. Know what I mean?
Oh, POI. Such a lovely main pairing, such a hard time bringing them together. #clambake
