Fic rec: "The Other Boy" by Lenore
All you really need to know about this story:

I had the pleasure and privilege to map out the plot of this fic with Lenore, over a 5-hour brunch one day back in January (somehow we didn't get kicked out of the restaurant!); then I got to do the beta read over the past few months. And then we both wrung our hands waiting for the posting date for the Vampire Big Bang - it couldn't come soon enough!
This story made me cry with joy and recognition and understanding. It's a story about vampires, with all the requisite sex and violence and intensity and complicated relationships and blood and glam (and did I mention the hot sex?). It's also a story about the search for family and meaning and one's place in the world, determined less by nature and more by love. I think that might sound familiar to some of you. :)
