I think none of us are more human than when we are in the midst of sex. It's such an intensely unique-to-the-individual thing, such a confluence of personal and cultural, all the myriad ways and reasons for doing it. Plus, at its core (in my view) it is such a ridiculous thing, sex, and humanity is equally ridiculous. Why there should be some sort of sin attached to any of it is beyond me.
