Methos is oldguywithbeer and mine. Kelly is dontyouforgetit and Mark is neidr_melltith and both are used with permission.

Edited to fix kitty name and gender, because mun has no memory. *sigh*

Alexa couldn’t believe that she was standing on the beach in Santorini, again. It had been so long ago, the last time she had come to this place, but it was still as lovely and friendly as she remembered it being, when Methos brought her there. Mark was never one to be jealous of her ex, in fact, he encouraged her to tell him stories of the time they spent there, when she was dying of cancer. Methos, on the other hand, had been a bit testy when she had told him she was taking her new husband to the place they had shared. Alexa let that slide, as she knew that he would get over it, but she still tried to soothe his ruffled feathers a little.

They made the trip in the new car that Mark had bought her for her birthday and Christmas, and she insisted on driving part of the way. European highways were nothing like the quiet ones in Seacouver, so there were some near mishaps and quite a few colorful curses thrown her way by drivers passing them. Scipio rode in the back seat, with Kelly, who tried to snuggle Venus, Alexa’s new kitten, for the trip. Venus, however, was quite territorial about his new mistress, and he would sneak over to sit in her lap, the same way she would sneak up in their bed to sleep on her chest. If Mark tried to move her, the tiny kitten would hiss at him, and try to swipe him with her wee paw.

Scipio was more friendly to the little kitty, and Alexa would often find them lying together, the kitten laying on top of the dog. When Venus decided to investigate the ocean, and was carried into the surf, it was Scipio who fished the soaked furball out, and lick her dry. Venus decided that Mark was both entertainment and enemy, and drove the Roman crazy with some of her antics. She would climb up on shelves, and dive bomb Mark when he walked by. If Mark was reading, or typing on his new laptop, Venus would walk over it, or bat at his hand. Worse, the kitten would try to prevent Mark putting romantic moves on his wife, by getting between them, and if Mark put her out of the room, the kitten would wail pitifully at the door.

Kelly had turned out to be kind of a nice blessing for them. Her raunchy sense of humor worked well in the house, and her stories about her wild party life made Alexa laugh. She was really great about helping out, and surprisingly, she was a whiz at typing and using a computer, so she often helped both Mark and Alexa with their business letters and forms. She took great messages, was friendly to clients, and volunteered to help Mark set up houses for viewing, with nice touches. It was Kelly who gave Alexa the idea to create specialized cruises for couples who were a bit more adventurous…in a number of ways…and the first one had been a real hit, giving Alexa a hefty commission. Of course, Alexa shared with their new roomie, and everyone seemed to get along.

On the drive, Alexa and Kelly began singing songs from the eighties, like “Come on Eileen” and Billy Idol, because Alexa had put in a CD. Mark drove, the girls sang, and the dog howled. Jokingly, Kelly reached over and kissed Alexa, a kiss that turned into something longer than Alexa expected. Kelly just smiled when Mark looked over at the women, and sat back in her seat, but Alexa had to admit that the kiss had been rather nice. Given that they had indulged before with Mira, Alexa wondered where things might go, but she didn’t worry, because the marriage was strong.

When they got to the villa that Alexa’s boss had arranged for them, Kelly bounded out of the SUV to stare in awe. It was breathtaking! The view was incredible, and they had a small pool, as well as a jaccuzzi, and the light, airy villa was luxurious but without any fripperies. It was clean, white, classic and not frilly or intimidating. There were pots and pans, and her boss had not only been so thoughtful as to send a fruit basket, flowers and champagne, but there were basic supplies in the fridge.

Alexa and Kelly were squeeing in delight, running from room to room. The master suite was gorgeous, with the biggest bed that Alexa had ever seen. The bath was incredible, and every bright, open window gave a new view of the sea. Alexa was thrilled to see that there were three bedrooms, so if Stelios and Caroline made it up, they had plenty of room. She wondered what the Spartan would think of Kelly, actually. Sometimes Alexa thought she might be a bit flaky or even sneaky, but then Kelly would do something totally nice, like bring her a cup of special tea. The tea had been wonderful for Alexa’s aching back, especially since she was trying to swear off her Vicodin.

Alexa made a big pitcher of non-alcoholic fruit cocktails, delicious with the warm sun and some nibbles that she put together. They could go out to dinner or something later, but for now, she just wanted to enjoy the sun, the view and her husband. Kelly said she was going to lie down for a bit, so Alexa walked down to the beach, remembering the past, but happy about the present. When she saw Mark, who had been walking Scipio and had just put him in the villa, she waved to him, and called out for him to join her.

There was only joy on her face, when he came to her, and she threw her arms around his neck, kissing him madly and laughing with the kind of bubbling excitement she always had when they found a new place to explore. “Santorini! I can’t believe it! Did you see how gorgeous the villa is? Baby, this is so perfect!” The breeze blew her hair, and she twirled around happily, dressed in shorts and a simple white camisole top. Her eagles were around her neck, her wedding band on her finger, and she was bounding with energy and bliss. She didn’t even mention his ugly sun hat, that’s how happy she was. Alexa couldn’t imagine how life could get any better than this.
