i finally saw matt barr's commercial. and it turns out that leather store is right near the airport andrew and i take flying lessons at.
we got back from hong kong yesterday night. i woke up this morning perfectly refreshed and convinced that i had gotten over my jetlag already. then i took a nap at noon (i wasn't even tired, i just wanted an excuse to not do charts) and woke up at ten pm. i'm going to try to pull an all nighter.. and an all dayer.. and then sleep at the right time.
the a/c is broken again. the water ran yellow the first time i tried to take a shower. the house smells funny. it's always a little wierd coming back to your house when it's been totally empty for a while.
hong kong was really great. we did so much stuff. saw a lot of things. and i didn't feel like a tourist at all.
there was this one dish, drunken shrimp, where they wheel out the shrimp on a trolly. the shrimp are still alive and soaking in alcohol. then they pour in hot water, and cover it up. the shrimp start jumping around for a while, while they're boiled alive. they slowly turn a tiny bit pinkish, but there's always some shrimp who keep jumping around for a while. it's pretty stressful to watch. then they light them on fire, (usually there are some that are still alive) and stir them around to make them more drunken. after a bit, they put them into a pot and cook them some more.
chris said he was going veggie, and i grilled him on his reasons. we finished it with he would simply decrease his meat intake.
since everyone's sleeping patterns are messed up with all these 12-hour overnights, we should just get together in the middle of the night and go ruckusing.
i don't know how long i'd be able to live in hong kong. i guess it would depend a lot on who the people i was interacting with everyday were. it feels really materialistic there sometimes. really frivolous and excessive. and busy. and dizzying. and misguided. sometimes, anyway.
we saw a bootleg copy of harry potter 3 on dvd. we went to ocean park, and saw lots of fishes, birds, butterflies, flowers, and such. and rode on the SLOWEST ROLLER COASTER IN HISTORY. we sweated like crazy sweat..things. we went to the night/bird/ladies'/jade..etc market. we ate at a fancy buffet with a chocolate fountain. we ate at a smelly side street place. we ate at a fastchinesefood place. chris got diarrhea. we laughed at him.
so anyway, that's all. i'm back in tea towne, feeling gross.
