The morning had been a long one for Nanao. Work had creeped by, leaving Nanao dragging. She stayed much later then she was expecting to, covering the second shift for a co-worker. The mony had been good, though, so she didn't complain as she waited on the bus. The day was cool, but clear, which put her in a better mood than she should've been.
She stopped off at the store to grab some things she noticed they needed at home. On impulse, she picked up some items to fix a something good for dinner the next time everyone was home together. Since the day was so nice, she decided to walk home the rest of the way.
Making a beeline for her door, she noticed a sliver of white peeking out of her mailbox, so she stopped and snagged the simple envelope.
No address... huh.
Her feet carried her to the kitchen, where she set the envelope down on the counter and put the groceries away. After she was done, the envelope ended up back in her hands. Turning it over, she slipped her finger under the flap, hissing at the sudden flare of red that appeared along her fingertip. Inside, she saw several bills and knew someone had returned her gift. She didn't quite know what to make of it, wasn't sure what she should think.
She absently sucked at her finger, soothing the papercut, as she thought about who would've returned the money. In her mind, she had a sneaking suspicion who it was, but she wouldn't say anything. Instead, she stashed the cash in her pocket and set about making some dinner. She made more than necessary so Tsunade and Shizune would have plenty when they wanted some.
