today i taught the first day of the Urban Studies class, which was fun, considering that i learned everything i know about urban studies 10 minutes agoon the train on the way to class since last semester ended. the kids are great, though, they sunk their teeth into Bloomberg's PlaNYC 2030 and i had to tell them not to eat it, although it contains copious amounts of fiber.
we had a debate about congestion pricing, which is code for commuter tax. i'm not against it, but i'm against the plan, specifically the part to photograph everybody driving in order to make it easier to catch their license plate, should they not be able to pay the toll automatically. who gets to keep those photos of you eating your bagel with no shirt on, again? who gets to see your seatbelt unbuckled? who gets to see you rocking out to what may or may not be Avril Lavigne? the Stonecutters, of course.
but i digress-- i'm currently in a heated battle with the Federal Reserve to get a tour, it's like getting into 4040. more later-- and still, no spoilage on the HP front though i'm extremely paranoid. i reread OotP last week and i'm holding off on HBP until after i see the movie, so as to keep it chronological. but i'm so stoked i could just pee.
