Crossovers! YAY! For the record, I know nothing about The Walking Dead except the dude's a cop and there's zombies. Sorry!
First Contact, Law and Order, PG
McCoy drops by the precinct to go over some interview notes with them. He brings the new A.D.A. with him, a young guy called Lee who has bright blue eyes and no place being a lawyer when he looks that good.
Kara offers her hand when they're introduced, it fits neatly in his. She holds on a little longer than necessary, her skin tingling. They leave, Briscoe clears his throat with a smile that's just his own.
She rolls her eyes and tells him to mind his business.
Peace Offering, The West Wing, PG
“Hey Lee, your office sucks!” Kara calls to him from the doorway. Lee strolls into the office and plonks himself down in his chair.
She gives him the present she brought and perches on the desk, tells him that he's doing a good job. He smirks in that way that is infuriatingly sexy and purely Lee. She fights the urge to grab him by his tie and kiss him until her lips are sore.
“You're not gonna be this nice to me when you're working here are you?”
She snorts and ruffles his hair.
“Not a chance.”
Drink it Down and Clear Your Head, Firefly, PG
The whiskey is sharp and burns a righteous path down her aching throat, the glass cool and heavy in her hand.
“So you gonna tell me about him?” Mal's rough voice, his southern lilt a strange comfort to her in this tacky bar, further than she usually likes to venture into Alliance territories.
Her mind flashes on Lee's face, free in the throes of their passion the night before, soft and peaceful this morning in sleep as she silently gathered her clothes. She signals the bartender for another and shrugs as she drinks it down.
“Nothing to tell.”
Right in Front of You, The Walking Dead, PG
There were things he never knew about her - she's always been loud and brash and too much in the mornings. But in all the years she had sat at that desk outside his office there had been things he had never known.
She looks practically wild now, hair whipping round her face, eyes focused intently on the weapon she is assembling with practised ease - one of the things he's been intrigued to learn.
He presses a kiss hard to her lips, vows to learn more once they've survived this. She winks and cocks her gun, licks her lips.
Won't You, Come See About Me?, The Breakfast Club, PG
Another Saturday spent in detention, and whatever, it's not like she'd rather be at home. The skin on her forearm itches where the skin is smooth and shiny. Any day spent in the company of anyone not her mother is a perfectly fine day as far as she's concerned.
Today's crew looks fairly mundane, though she hasn't seen any of them here before. Lee Adama walks through the door looking uncomfortable and pissed off. Kara perks up at the sight of him, admiring the way he fits into his blue-jeans and polo shirt.
:D Kara as Bender just IS. True Fact. And she'd totally be perfect for Firefly-verse, she'd drink with Mal, shoot things with Jayne, fly stuff with Wash, talk fighting with Zoe, and flirt with Simon to get Kaylee to get her act together. And I can envision some classic "STarbuck thinks this is bullshit" faces when listening to River.
I never really got into Firefly because it was so short, but I always wanted to read a snarky fic where Kara and Mal meet in a bar all swaggering attitudes and each of them trying to out- "Captain!" the other. ;)
I also love the Firefly one, although they are all great. The handshake in First Contact is also wonderful! (And I love the idea of Kara as Briscoe's partner. YAY!)
Can FINALLY comment, and just wanted to say how much I love the Firefly one, you put two of my favourite characters together and it's perfect, Mal would be such a perfect morning-after angstbuddy for Kara.
I also like The West Wing and L&O drabbles, though I've never been into either series, the drabbles feel very piloty to me :)
I can FINALLY reply! (I've been away) Thank you! Kara and Mal are just made to be drinking buddies I think, they would just shut up and drink and understand. *sigh*
The West Wing one is an actual scene from the show, I was contemplating doing something else and then I was watching that episode and I just thought, THIS is pilots! Thank you for commenting, in spite of the craziness :D

Her day just got way more interesting.
