The journey started with the Budget fuckass stiffing me out of $52.01 and over 2.5 hrs of my life and being a complete shithead. I loaded my junk into the truck that night w/ my 'rents, and drove down to the city in the morning. Sarah lived in a 4th floor walkup. Yes, a walkup. Can I just say, that sucked like nothing else ever has.
Then, dripping with sweat, we climbed into the cab of the truck, ripe with the body odors of its many prior recipients. The a/c was cranked as we found I-95. Then the traffic jams.
DOES ANYONE SOUTH OF NYC HAVE EZ PASS???!?!?!!
Apparently not.
So, it took us roughly 6-7 hrs to get down to MD, a trip that had previously taken 4 hrs. Uh huh. Oh yeah, we were sane after that. :-P But we hauled our stuff upstairs and did the only thing possible after a day like that; order massive amounts of Chinese food and eat it. So far, we've accomplished getting internet and a new oven among other things. Our apartment is freakin' enormous!
We got roughly everything unpacked in two days. And we got a visitor bearing pie. We let him in. Because he had pie. ;)
I think I might have his cold. Dammit.
(Lyrics of the night:
"If you come a-knockin,
Honey, I don't mind.
But if you're not here for lovin,
Honey, don't waste my time...."
